Carly is still not sure that she can tell Bo. He tells her that when they took their vows that day at Chichen Itza, they shared their past present and future. She tells him that she found out something at the convent that would change her life forever.
Carrie goes to Lawrence's and tells him that she's come to talk about "us". She asks him if there is an "us". He asks her what she wants to think. She says that she wants to think that he's over Carly - she doesn't want to see him get hurt. He replies that he didn't realize that she cared so much. She tells him she does. She kisses him and he returns it, but when she can't see his face it is stony.
Gabby finds Isabella at the flat. She threatens to tell the police until Isabella pulls out the necklace and tells her that she knows Danielle is Romulus. Isabella also tells her that she's taken photos and she leaves.
In Lugano, John and Danielle are making out in bed when there is a knock at the door. They both put on robes and John answers it. It's Riso and he tells them that he has some news that will interest both of them. He tells them that John is in the clear as far as the police are concerned but he hasn't been able to get hold of Mangino's files. However access has been granted to the safety-deposit box. They decide to go down there once they¹re changed.
Carly tells Bo about her fainting at the convent. Other things started happening and she didn't want to believe what they were, so she hid it. Sister Marguerite figured it out first and made her see Dr Goddard. She was pregnant and had Lawrence's baby boy. Lawrence never knew. She says there were complications, contractions and spotting so she went to Vivian, who could give her better care than the nuns could. She went into labour at seven months and this time they couldn't stop it. Dr Goddard gave her a sedative and they told her that her baby was born with water on the brain. He lived for about an hour but she was never allowed to hold him. Bo holds her.
Carrie and Lawrence are still kissing. He eventually stops it citing her family as a reason. He tells her to go home, he'll contact her later. Vivian comes in and shoos Carrie off. Lawrence tells her that it was simply business. Vivian gets a phone call telling her that Vic's private pilot has filed a flight plan for Lugano and Isabella will be on board. Vivian decides to go as well, but Lawrence tells her that he has some things in Salem to take care of.
Carly tells Bo that her son would have been just a little older than Shawn-Douglas. She can't help but wonder what he would have been like. She tells Bo that she wishes that she could have held him in her arms for that one hour and told him how much he was loved. A little while later she tells Bo that she wants to go out for a while, alone, and clear her head. Later Bo finds her at the sandpit in the park. He holds her and she cries....
Isabella runs into Marcus. He dissuades her from going to Switzerland but she tells him that Danielle might try to kill John.
At the bank, John opens the safety-deposit box. Behind him Danielle pulls out a gun.... He pulls a locket out of the box. Danielle (gun back in her purse) tells him that she doesn't know what it means. Perhaps if he put it on her it might help. He does and she says it's perfect. He agrees but then tells her it's a pity that she won't be able to wear it in prison - Romulus’.
Roman and Bo are in the seedy hotel. Roman has a wig, pantyhose and a very ugly bra.
Marlena tells Carrie that they’re going to have a new housekeeper for a couple of weeks and she wants Carrie to help out. She also wants to have a talk to Carrie. The other day she implied that she was sexually active. Marlena wants to know if that's the truth and if so is she protecting herself. Carrie replies that she's not stupid and she knows about these things. She leaves and Marlena picks up the phone to call someone but it rattles. She unscrews the receiver and discovers a bug.
John tells Danielle that she gave the game away with her knowledge of bank security and her escape from Mangino's office. He tells her tat the cops will be there any minute. He wants the locket back but she's not about to give it up and she pulls the gun on him. He tells her that she's got nothing to gain by killing him. She tells him that he has no proof. Yes he has. He lifted a ruby necklace from her jewellery box while she was kissing him the previous night. He gave it to Riso when he came in the morning. She wants to know how he could have used her like that. He says she taught him. She used him and he learned from the master. She cocks the gun, telling him that the locket is worth more to her than his life.
Isabella tells Bo about Danielle. He decides to call his bud in Lugano and he can tell John the news.
Marlena is on the phone to Abe when the new housekeeper’ arrives. She asks Abe to get Roman to call her, it's very important. The housekeeper, standing behind her says ³Woah Doc, here I am². She turns around stunned and then laughs and asks what took him so long. Roman explains that he had Mabel called out of town so that he could keep an eye on her and the kids. She tells him that he is the ugliest woman she has ever seen (and boy I have to agree with that assessment.....). She shows him the bug.
Vivian is in the café in Lugano and meets Mangino. She asks him to tell her where John is. He tells her he doesn't know and anyway, he's not Romulus. She demands to know who is.
John asks Danielle to tell him , before she kills him, what link that locket has to his past. She tells him she doesn't know. He tells her that she can't kill him because she still loves him. She says she's never been a murderer and gives him the gun. She tries to persuade him to let her go because of how he felt for her. He tells her to go but before she does he kisses her and takes the locket. He asks her if it was true that they were married.
Marlena tells Roman that they can't just pick up where they left off. It's been eight years and they’re different people. He says that he can't understand why she thinks it'll be so tough (uh perhaps because she's in love with someone else - duh!). They’ve got time to fall in love all over again and plan their future. Marlena says that would be nice but what happens when the next Raffi Torres comes along. He can't promise her that he won't drop and run again and she can't live without that promise.
Before Danielle can answer John, the police bang on the door. John sends her out the window and then makes it appear as if he's been knocked out. She gets back to the hotel and is packing when Vivian walks into her room. She tells Danielle that she wants answers in exchange for her freedom. Danni asks her if she wants to know about the locket. Viv says she already knows everything about the locker - Danielle stole it from her and she wants it back. Danielle says that she's not talking about the locket *she* stole - she's talking about the *other* one.
Marlena and Roman get some pizza. The twins come downstairs having heard voices. Marlena introduces them to Hazel’. Sami tells Eric not to stare. Eric says he can't help it - she looks funny. They head back up to bed and Marlena tells Hazel that she's got a big day tomorrow- all that housework. Roman says surely it's negotiable. She says sure and takes the pizza box away. He asks her where she's going. She says up to her bedroom, he knows where the maid's room is. She leaves him a piece of half-eaten pizza and heads up the stairs.
Danielle tells Viv that 8 years ago John took a safety-deposit box and told her that there was something extremely valuable in it - the proof to his identity. Vivian looks shocked. Danielle tells her that it was a locket - very similar to the other one. She leaves and Ivan comes in and asks Viv if she's alright. She tells him that she isn't and if the news that she's just found out is true - it's going to change all their lives....
Vivian gets home and Lawrence asks her what happened in Switzerland. She tells him nothing really. Lawrence doesn't believe her and demands to know. She tells him that Danielle is Romulus, but she doesn't have the locket.
Bo and Carly talk. She tells him that she feels closer to him than ever She tells him that she should have come to him first and tells him that she went to Vivian. She says that Vivian is still worried about her and she should really let her know she's alright.
Tom tells Chip that he's had to suspend him pending the outcome of the lawsuit. His hands are tied and he apologizes. Chip goes to Wings which is closed and dark. Julie lights a match and tells him that she's reserved the best table in the house for them. He can't believe that she's closed the club for the night but she tells him that people you care about mean more than money and they kiss.
At Alice's , Tom and Alice tell Bo that unless they can get hold of Carly's college records, they will have to suspend her too. Lisanne has backed Tom into a corner.
Lawrence interviews an applicant for the maid's job. Funny type of interviewing this. It involves a bed.... Carly calls for Viv and Ivan tells Lawrence, who throws on some clothes and hurries downstairs. He tells Carly that Vivian will be sorry she missed her. They are at the door when the maid’ comes down wrapped in a sheet and asks who Carly is. Carly leaves and Lawrence tells the blonde to get the hell out of his house. Later when Lisanne is there he tells her that he wants to invest heavily in Salem. Starting with the Spectator. Later again Viv comes home and evades Lawrence's questioning once again saying they'll talk in the morning.
Bo tells Carly that he hasn't been able to get in touch with Dr Goddard about her college records. He says that if he didn't know better he¹d think he¹d fallen off the earth. He tells Carly that he has the feeling that someone has destroyed her records.
John is talking to Isabella on the phone. He tells her he's got to hang around to have one last talk to Danielle. He's got to find out whether they're married or not.
Tanner tells Carrie that someone has been following her. He goes over to talk to him and finds out it's a cop. Carrie thinks that Marlena is behind it because of Lawrence.
Hazel’ brings breakfast out and tells Marlena that she can have it in bed. She tells him that she'll have it at the table. He tells her that he's going to win his job back - protecting her forever and ever’. He strokes her cheek, Sami runs downstairs and asks them what they’re doing. Marlena tells Sami that Hazel was trying to get something out of her eye.
Marcus is applying to the big-brother program. Jesse Lombard is the lucky kid. He turns up at the hospital after getting a call from social services. Marcus tells him that his parents were killed so he knows what it's like and he wants to help. Jesse tells him that he's not interested. Marcus says to come back if he changes his mind.
Marlena tells Roman that she doesn't have any regularly scheduled appointments so she's going to stick around the house to keep an eye on him. He asks her if she's going to help him make the beds’. The doorbell rings and Hazel’ gets it. It's Abe and he tells Roman he makes a really ugly woman. He goes into the kitchen and Marlena tells Roman that she's not sure she can live with him being a cop anymore. He asks what she's afraid of. She says she's afraid he's going to die.
Danielle is seeing her mother when John catches up with her. She tells him that they *were* married. He tells her that he'll put an end to the marriage quickly. She sees her mother and tells her that it's the last time she can visit her because the police are after her. She tells her that she's lost John again, the only man she's ever loved. Back in the hotel, John phones for someone to bring up his bags.. After he puts it down, it rings. It's Danielle. She wants to meet him before he leaves, she has something very important to tell him. She arrives at his room and tells him she lied to him - she's not his wife.
Back at Marlena's, she is close to tears when she hears Lexie's voice from the kitchen. She pulls herself together and Lexie comes in and invites her out for the evening. Marlena suggests they got to the new singles place opening on the riverfront. Abe shepherds Lexie out and Roman tells Marlena she's not going to any singles bar tonight. Marlena replies that maybe she and Lexie will go the following night. Roman tells her that he loves her more than anyone else in the world and they belong together.
Roman is out of uniform’. He's set up a picnic in front of the fire. He tells Marlena that he's decided tonight he's going to win her back.
Isabella has just been seated at Wings when a voice asks if she minds if he joins her. It's John and she jumps up and kisses him. He tells her that he couldn't put Danielle in prison but then gives her the good news - they weren't married.
Carly tells Vivian that she told Bo the truth about the baby. Viv tells her that telling Bo was a very big mistake. Carly tells her that Bo was very understanding and they agree that Lawrence must not find out. Carly tells her that she needs to find Dr Goddard and why. Viv says that she hasn't had contact with him for years, but she'll try. When Carly leaves, she picks up the phone, dials and asks in French for Dr Goddard.
Marlena tells Roman that she feels like she's the only one working on the marriage, the only one making compromises. He makes her some promises - to consult her on any important decisions, to be more open with her and to do everything in his power to make the marriage succeed. He asks her if that's enough. She says maybe, with a smile. He goes to kiss her, but the doorbell rings. They collect up all the stuff and he disappears off into the kitchen. Marlena gets the dor - it's Lisanne. She apologises for coming over so late. Hazel comes out with the vacuum cleaner. Lisanne tells Marlena that she understands that she's had contact with the Lombards. Marlena tells her that she knows what they’re going through but that the hospital was in no was negligent. Lisanne says she's sorry to hear that. Hazel starts the vacuum cleaner and makes plenty of noise. Lisanne wants Marlena to do a psychological profile on the Lombards saying they’re suffering. Marlena refuses outright. Lisanne says that for a moment she thought she understood, maybe because of some previous experience. Hazel interrupts and tells her not to talk to the lady of the house that way. Lisanne asks if it's Marlena's policy to allow the hired help to intrude on private conversations. Marlena tells her that Hazel isn't thought of as hired help - she's part of the family. Lisanne says she sees the family resemblance. She's just asking Marlena to reconsider when Hazel dumps the vacuum bag all over her. She's wild and insists that Hazel has her dress cleaned. Immediately. She strips off in the middle of the living room and gives the dress to hazel, leaving her standing in a black lacy teddy. Roman is stunned.
Isabella tells John that she wants to be married to him when the baby comes. He tells her he can't until he knows his true identity. She tells him it's a very familiar old song. He shows her the locket and says they may know soon. When they get home they discover that the lockets are exactly identical.
Carly and Bo go to the Cheatin' Heart and Bo sets up a beer tasting competition. Carly gets them all right. When they are the only people left, the barkeeper gives Bo the keys and tells him to lock up and drop the keys off to him. Bo asks Carly to marry him (again!). She turns on the jukebox and takes off her top to Joe Cocker's "You can Keep Your Hat On." They make love on the pool table.
Roman comes downstairs, a towel wrapped around his waist. Marlena is also downstairs getting a glass of water in her black negligee. She heads up the stairs, but turns round and runs back to him. They make love in front of the fire. Roman asks her if he's still banished to the maids room for the night. She says no. She wants to go to sleep on top of him in his arms and wake up the same way, and try to believe that everything is alright.
Lawrence demands that Vivian tell him the truth about Switzerland. She tells him that she thinks she knows who John Black is. She has reason to believe he's Lawrence's brother
