Marlena goes to see Shane. She asks him if Roman is coming back. If he is she says she'll wait for him forever, but if he's not, she has to get on with her life. Shane tells her he doesn't know. He tells her had a brother who went undercover and he doesn't know what happened to him. Marlena says perhaps he just gave her his answer. She has to start living her life without Roman, she can't live with false hope.
Lebec fires the gun. Actually no it's Viv that fires the gun. She shoots Lebec and saves Lawrence. She steps over the body and greets her nephew. Ivan comes in and is thoroughly confused. This scene is priceless....
Abe meets Roman at the pier and they hide as Torres and Victor come down. Torres says he'll release Bo for half the Kiriakis empire. Vic tells Torres he'll get back to him. After they leave Abe gets a call about the shooting.
Carly is still delirious. Abe questions Vivian about the shooting and Ivan says he was a witness to the whole thing. Carrie arrives and sees the body. Lawrence reassures her and tells her to go home. Vivian tells Carrie that Lebec tried to kill Lawrence. Abe sees Carrie and wants to know what she's doing there. He tells her he'll have to talk to her mother about this. Vivian interrupts and Carrie gets the opportunity to slip away. Upstairs Carly wakes an makes it to the door of the bedroom. Viv asks Lawrence who Carrie is. Carly knocks over a vase and Abe hears. Ivan comes downstairs and tells them it was him. Abe leaves and Lawrence tells Vivian to prepare herself for a shock. They go upstairs and Carly talks to Lawrence in her dream. She calls him James which shocks him. Viv later says that Carly called him James before she knew who he was or who his family was.
Roman, disguised as an orderly, sees Shane and tells him about Vic. Shane tells Roman that Marlena seemed pretty determined to get on with her life without him. Outside Doc asks Molly to get an orderly for a patient. A nurse interrupts and says that she saw an orderly go into Shane's room. Marlena goes in but doesn't recognize him.
Raffi Torres tells his man that he'll cancel the hit on Lawrence until things have quieted down and are a little safer.
Carly wakes, but she's still calling Lawrence James. She asks him to kiss her but he says he can't. She pulls on his tie and he sheds a tear but he loosens her hand and quietly tells her that one day he will. Downstairs Vivian take the tray from the maid and throws away her pills and water.
Marlena goes into her office. The picture of her and Roman is sitting on her desk. She picks it up and goes and asks Hillary why. She put it in a drawer a couple of days ago. Down in Shane's room Roman tells Shane that he was sitting at Doc's desk and he put the picture back there.
John and Isabella are at the resort. John goes to throw a baseball and has a memory of going to a baseball game and having a ball signed by Mickey Mantle. He doesn't know whether it is Roman's memory or his so he calls Shawn. Shawn tells him that never happened to Roman.
Marlena goes into Shane's room. Roman manages to get out without her seeing much of him. Marlena talks to Shane about the surgery he's planning on having to see if he can walk again. She tells him he could die. The topic turns to Roman again. rob comes in and introduces himself. (On a previous ep he had seen Marlena and asked Marcus about her.)
Abe runs into Shawn at the pier. Shawn tells him that John and Isabella are at Mandolay Bay. Abe rings John and asks him to check the place out. John finds out that Raffi might be bringing Bo there.
Marlena and Rob go into the lounge to talk about her helping with the lawsuit. Roman follows them in. Rob asks her is they can go somewhere more comfortable. Just the two of them. Roman makes lots of noise. Marlena laughs and asks Rob if that line ever works for him. He says not often but that doesn't stop him and he apologizes for being obnoxious. Roman is still making noise and they decide to go get something to eat.
Jack is getting sympathetic morning sickness. Tom comes over and talks to Jack about being a father. he mentions that twins run in the family and Jack faints,.
Roman tells Abe about Rob putting the moves on Marlena. Abe tells him not to worry, Marlena loves him.
Doc and Rob have finished dinner. He tries some more lines on her but she recognizes them from a re-run of Hunter. They laugh and she tells him she finds him charming but brushes him off.
Shane tells Roman that someone can get him into Victor's place. Peachy gets him a job as a maintenance man.
Marlena goes back to her office. She goes to put the picture in her filing cabinet but she can't and puts it back on the desk. Roman is lurking outside and Marlena gets a feeling but when she opens the door no-one is there....
Vivian gets Carly's meds off the maid and Tells Lawrence that she's ringing the doctor but she doesn't. Carly gets sicker and sicker.
John and Isabella find out Carly is missing. They come back to Salem and John finds Carly at Lawrence's. They take her to the hospital.
Jenn does and editorial against tabloids. Jack does a rebuttal and they have and argument on screen. Dan tells her to go home and he'll call her later. She worries that she may have lost her job.
Molly is trying to fill out her student loan application. When she comes back to it, her mother's name has been filled out - Ginger Dawson.
John and Lawrence get Carly to the hospital. It takes Chip a while, but he finally manages to get her fever down. However, he tells them that it was so long before she was treated that there may be brain damage. Our John blames himself for not finding her earlier but Marlena tells him that it's just lucky that he found her when he did. Meanwhile Shawn and Caroline have an argument, Shawn accuses Caroline of doing nothing but praying and 'having faith'.
Roman gets a new disguise - Fritz Muller, Victor's new maintenance man. Vic almost recognizes him but Roman convinces him that he was staff there before. Shawn bursts in and attacks Vic. In the ensuing melee Roman gets stabbed in the arm. Marlena who had followed Shawn to try and stop him patches Roman up but doesn't recognize him. (PLEASE. The woman is married to the man and she doesn't recognize him? It's only a latex mask after all.)
Finally the Molly/Tanner/Ginger most boring storyline of the year is being resolved! Molly goes to ginger's trailer. Ginger tells her that she's her mom. Molly doesn't believe her. (Well there's a surprise! :0)) Tanner goes to see Ginger and then Molly. He tells her it's the truth and he's known for a while but couldn't tell her because it would put her in danger. He gives her the missing part of the wedding photo of her mom. Ginger had asked him to give it to her.
Shawn-D goes to see Carly and she wakes up. She asks Isabella if she can see Lawrence. Lawrence tells her about LeBec being killed and that he was his link to Torres. Carly realizes that Lawrence put his life in danger to help her. Vivian decides to throw a party in Carly's honor.
John and Isabella go home but while John is looking at the burnt photo (again) he has a flash of the Masquerade Ball. He asks IzzyB to put on the locket and dances with her to the music that he remembers. He goes back into the memory and sees someone wearing the locket. He eventually sees her face and it's Carly. He goes to the hospital to see her but she's too tired to talk. He (finally) sees the birthmark behind her ear.
