Kayla comes to. Shane is on top of her & she pushes him off. Carly also comes to. She helps Kayla with Shane. Victor turns up & sends his man off to call the paramedics. Sh sees Julie & she's badly injured. Alice, having just woken, calls to Carly to help Julie. Carly says that she has a very slow pulse & internal bleeding. Then Shane stops breathing & has no pulse. Kayla & Carly bring him back through CPR. The paramedics arrive. One cop radios Brian Schofield because Vern is one of the injured.
They begin arriving at the trauma centre. Chip Laken & Tom Horton discover Julie is one of the ones badly hurt. Victor asks Alice if there is anything he can do. She says he can go home & leave them alone. (I think we're seeing the new improved Vic here...) Molly arrives & finds out Julie has been hurt & angsts over it.
Shane is in one of the emergency rooms. His heart stops beating again. They bring him back again using the resue equipment.
Chip & Tom come out to talk to Alice, Maggie, Mickey, Molly & Tanner. They say that Julie needs extensive surgery to survive but that she might not survive the operate. It is decided that they will. As there is no other available doctors, Chip (who is a first year intern - on call at a trauma centre when the only other doctor is Marcus Hunter?) is going to operate.....
Shane is still in a coma. Chip is operating on Julie.
John wants to help Abe on the bombing case. Marlena arrives at the museum. She talks to John & decides to go to the hospital where she can help.
Chip comes out & talks to Dr & Mrs H. Julie survived surgery, but the next few hours could be critical. He goes back in to see Julie & Marcus comes in to tell Chip that one of his patients died - the waiter from the party (Dean Lombard). Shawn & Caroline arrive to be with Kayla.
Later Carly comes in to talk to Kay. She asks if Kayla thinks that the bomb had anything to do with Raffi Torres & they come to the conclusion that it probably did. Carly rings Abe & tells him that the guests connected to the Torres left before the bomb went off.
Marlena arrives at the hospital & talks to Kayla. Kayla says that it is all happening over again. First Steve & now Shane. Marlena tells her that she knows better than anyone how she feels. Kayla tells her that they can't give up. Marlena leaves & Kayla cries on Shane's bed. He wakes & tells her not to cry. But when he tries to get up (oh-no!) he can't move his legs! Marcus & Carly say they'll have to get in a specialist.
Marlena meets the dead waiters parents & tells them she's here to help. They talk to Dr H who says it was a natural problem exacerbatd by the injuries he sustained. The boy's father says it is a smokescreen, & the hopital is to blame. When they leave, Tom observes that grief does strange things to people. Marlena says especially when you can't see a reason for the loss.... Later she tells Shawn & Caroline that if Roman hadn't been so stubborn & gone after Torres then maybe none of this would have happened & he & Bo would still be home.
In a sweet & funny scene, Julie wakes & Chip tells her what has happened, but makes it out to be not very bad. Alice later tells Julie that Chip had fought very hard to save her life.
Marcus tells Shane that the specialist won't be able to know how bad the damage is without exploratory surgery. He also tells him that the odds are against him walking again. Shane tells him that he'll just have to beat the odds.
Raffi tells a tied up Bo (with a black hood over his head) about the bomb...& tells him who was hurt. He comments that they were all friends of Bo's....
Chip tells Molly & Tanner that Julie is much better.
Marlena wakes up and says that she has forgotten to make the coffee, and rolls over to ask Roman to make it. She puts her hand out, she has forgotten momentarily that he's gone....
Carly runs into Lawrence, who is carrying a package of heart shaped candy... She tells him not to think of giving it to her. He smiles & tells her that he didn't buy it for her...
John tells Isabella about the bomb. He 's off to another *session* with Marlena (that's a hypno session, nothing more interesting...) After he leaves, Isabella makes a phonecall.
Jack receives a notice of forclosure on the apartment.
Danielle is at the hospital. She asks Marcus about Carly, she wants to make an appointment with her. Marcus tells her she's a fine doctor...
Carly turns up at the loft. Isabella tells her that she's starting to find out some things about John which are scaring her.....
Lawrence meets up with Carrie. She tells him about Roman leaving. He tells her that she can always turn to John. He tells her to get John to talk to her about his problems & *if they weigh to heavily* on her mind, she can always come & talk to Lawrence. Then he gives her the candy & wishes her happy Valentines Day.
Marlena & John are in her office. Doc has him under hypnosis. She asks him if he can see the mystery woman. He says yes, but it's haxy. She brings him out & tells him he's resisting her & she can't help him if he does that. John tells her that he *does* remember his dreams & they're disturbing... He says that perhaps they should just forget the whole thing. Doc tells him it's a bad idea, he has a Pandora's box of memories, and one day a trigger will open them all...
Jack shows Jenn the letter of foreclosure, but Jenn is fine about it. She says that she doesn't care where they live, as long as they are together.
Marlena meets Carly, they've both gone for a walk. Carly asks doc if she wants a bite to eat. They decide not to go to Alice's or Wings because they always run into someone they know. So they go to the Cheatin' Heart. Marlena says that Roman would never believe it. She orders a Chardonnay, but they only have House White & House Red. Carly talks her into ordering a beer (or Brewski, as Bo calls it.)& they get a pitcher. Crly then teaches Marlena how to hold a pool cue. She tries to hit the cue ball , but misses...the second time, she hits it. Carly decides they'll play 8-ball. Carly is good at this, Marlena has never played pool in her life, one guess who's winning.... :0) Marlena goes for a shot & hits the cue ball into Carly's beer! Carly makes the final shot into a corner pocket, and neither of them can believe it.... When they leave, Marlena says that next time she'll pick the place ... :0)
Isabella tells John she's been investigating his past. She tells him about the thefts code-named Romulus. She shows him the card they found at the museum. John knows that the wolf's head means something to him. He realizes his ring could have been shaped like that. He tells her about his dream of someone stealing the painting - but he doesn't know if it is him or not.
Lawrence is on the phone to a mystery peson. He says he looks forward to their arrival (This is Vivian).
Torres makes Bo write a letter to let his family know he's still alive. Bo, writes it to Carly. (We still don't see his face...)
John has another dream, this time he's in bed with a woman, it could be Danielle, but he doesn't see her face. He's talking in his sleep, telling her that he loves her. IzzyB wakes him. he tells her about the dream & says the woman must have been very important to him. She asks him if he's dreamed of her before. He says' yes & he must have loved her. Isabella tells him that if he doesn't keep searching it'll stay with him forever.
Larry is talking to the mystery woman. He tells her that he has caught up with Romulus (meaning John). He says he'll get all that was taken from them back.
John & Isabella are choosing names for the baby. Carrie arribves & IzzyB spills the beans about the baby. John hadn't told Carrie. Isabella leaves. John tells Carrie that it doesn't change the way he feels about her. Carrie ends up telling John that she's really happy for him.
Lawrence gets a phonecall arranging a meeting with Torres.
Isabella runs into Danielle. Danielle takes her to find a Valentines present for John.
Carrie finds Lawrence at the shops, but he tells her that he's on the way to a meeting. But he says he can talk to her for a few minutes. She tells him about the baby. Also that Isabella has come up with siome new leads. Lawrence tells Carrie to spend as much time as possible with John if she wants to help him. He leaves & goes around the corner. He phones someone & tells them to get the locket from John.
Isabella gets a porcelain Rose for John - Danielle had shown her it.
Julie tells Chip that she heard about his patient dying & that she cares about him. If he ever wants to talk, she's there for him.
Danielle arrives at her flat & pulls a porcelain rose out of the drawer, just like the one Isabella bought.
Lawrence gets the bag that his man stole from Johns. Nothing is in it. Larry says he knows John is Romulus, even if John doesn't.
John & Isabella get back to his apartment. John realizes the satchel is missing. He tells IzzyB that all the items were in the bag. She tells him that they weren't, she had put them in a safe place. John says that if someone wanted to steal the bag, maybe he's closer to the truth than he thought.
Raffi Torres *wishes* Bo happy Valentines Day & says that today is the day that he will contact Carly.
Jenn comes back into the bedroom & puts the bag in the drawer. Jack has been doing some calculations and says they can't afford to pay all the bills. Jenn says that's OK. SHe tells Jack that there are more important things than money.
Isabella arrives at John's flat with a giant (almost life-size) teddy bear. John loves it, but she tells him it's for Junior...
At Alice's Maggie tells Ginger that it's her wedding anniversary. Mickey walks in with roses and jewellery and tells her that he's reserved a table at Wings (all just like Maggie had told Ginger he would, as he does every year). After he leaves, Ginger tells her that she has to do something unpredictable.
Jack arranges to sell the penthouse.
Abe runs into Marlena at the hospital (they're friends again, no mention of the earlier animosity, I would have thought that Doc would at leat apologize!). He gives her Bo's necklace, the one that was delivered to Roman after Bo was kidnapped. He asks her out on the town as they're both alone on Valentine's Day. Doc agrees & then goes into her office. A paient is waiting for her. His name is Frank. He says he needs to talk to her because he killed someone. He tells her he killed a woman painter & he can't get it out of his mind. As he leaves he tells her to keep her mouth shut. She tells him not to threaten her (Go Doc!). He walks right up to her & tells her that he likes her because she's tough, but straight.
John gives Isabella her licence to practice Private Investigation. He got it from Town Hall early. IzzyB gives him the rose. It triggers another flashback - to when he gave a similar rose to Danielle, although they're both wearing masks. Isabella asks him if he's okay, he says he's fine.
Ginger & Maggie have been shopping....(the mind boggles!) Ginger lets it slip to Maggie that she was married to a guy named Rusty. Marlena & Carly also come into Alice's. They're both pretty depressed about Valentines Day. Marlena is quiet. Carly notices and asks her what's wrong. Doc says she's just remembering something a patient told her, it kinda threw her. She gives Carly Bo's necklace. Carly says it makes her feel closer to Bo.
Bo is alone, he has (what I think is) an inkwell, with which he is cutting his ropes.
Isabella asks John why he is upset. She suddenly seems to realize that there may be more to Danielle than meets the eye. There is a knock on the door, John opens it, still holding the rose. One guess who's at the door.... She says that her bathroom sink is clogged (yeah, yeah, good excuse Danielle). She sees the rose & says how lovely it is, she's always been partial to roses. It seems that John may be very close to recognizing her. Later Danielle tells Gabby that whatever it takes, she's going to get him to love her.
Jack tries to get Jenn some flowers, but he has no money & his cards are refused. Jenn gets hime & gets a message from Jack to meet him at 27 Harbour Way (which turns out to be above Alice's and across the hall from Jo's.)
Mickey gets to Alice's, but Maggie is not there. She has, however, left a tape deck, on which she tells him to meet her at the Continental Bar.
Doc is at her office looking at a file when Abe knocks at the door. She is pretty jumpy. He tells her about the *grisly" murder of a woman artist downtown. He also tells her that they don't have a single suspect.
Mickey arrives at the Continental bar. Maggie is there, all dressed in red. He asks her if she'll have dinner with him. She says she's not hungry,but she does have a room upstairs in the hotel. Would he care to join her?
Someone delivers Bo's letter to Carly. Bo finally manages to undo his ropes & escape.
Jenn arrives at the apartment. Jack is lying on the bench. He has a baby bottle of wine in the floor, with two cookies an two candles. That's all that he could afford. Jenn gets out her Valentines Day surprise for Jack. It's baby bottles, pacifiers, clothes.... He doesn't get it. So she tells him about doing a home test & then going to the hospital. He still doesn't get it. She finally has to spell it out for him. Baby Abby is on the way.
