September 29-October 10, 1986 Update
Patch rushes to the pier, where he sees Frankie, who hides his friend from the cops. He'll keep Roman away, Frankie promises and then tells Kayla where Patch is hiding. Concerned, Kayla goes to the shack and convinces him to come back with her. She believes he didn't kill Britta, Kayla says, urging Patch to turn himself in. Later, confronting Roman, Patch swears that he is innocent.
Following Roman's advice, Patch goes to the police station to give a statement. But to everyone's shock, the Assistant D.A. informs them that Patch is being held for questioning and will have to spend the night in jail. Kayla is livid and lambasts Roman, who calls her on her passionate defense of Patch. Kayla storms out, leaving Roman with the knowledge that his sister cares deeply for Johnson.
A Nazi In Salem?
Robert is shaken when he sees Dr. Fred Miller, a doctor from Illinois. Look at the man and tell him what he sees, Robert instructs Eli. While he thinks the doctor looks familiar, he cannot place him, Elis says. Dr. Miller is really Nazi war criminal Dr. Fredrich Kluger, who was responsible for Robin's grandmother's death, Robert informs a shocked Eli, Mike, and Robin.
Determined to expose Dr. Miller, Mike and Robin research the man's background but find out nothing about him. When Miller cancels a press conference, Mike and Robin become suspicious, but they still need proof before they can confront him. If he is Kluger, he will have a birthmark on his arm, Robert tells them. Mike devises a plan using Patch, who is asked to attack Miller in the alley and cut up his shirt sleeve. Mike and Robin arrive to see that the birthmark has been removed, a scar, partially covered by plastic surgery, remains. They are sure that Miller is a Nazi, Mike and Robin tell Robert, who warns them that they must go through the proper channels before they let Miller know that they are on to him.
Glenn And Jennifer Start To Make Love
Glenn and Jennifer begin making love, but she can't go through with it. Upset and embarrassed, Jennifer leaves, but later decides she owes Glenn an apology. She goes to his house, but just as she arrives, she sees Glenn kissing Claudia through the window. She retreats just before Glenn pulls back from Claudia. What they are doing is wrong because he really likes Jennifer, Glenn tells Claudia.
Marlena Phones Roman! Roman is shocked when he gets a phone call from Marlena. She is being held by Clark in a Washington hotel room. During the conversation she tips him off by saying the name "Orpheus." Furious, Clark slaps the phone out of her hand. Roman is puzzled by the clue, but when Shane hears it, he fills Roman in on who "Orpheus" is: A killer!
Later, Roman gets a call from Clark, demanding that he start looking for the bonds. Marlena gets on the phone and tells him they have a gun on her. Fuming, Roman informs Clark that unless he sees Marlena in person, he won't retrieve the bonds. Talking to Shane and Gillian, Roman confides that he is worried that he might not be able to force his wife's kidnappers into letting him see her. Gillian informs Vaughn that Roman is adament about seeing Marlena.
Roman Sees Marlena
Vaughn decides to put a plan in motion. Contacting Roman, Clark instructs him to go to a private airport where he will be able to see Marlena. Roman watches his wife get out of a small airplane and runs towards her, but she warns him not to touch her because she has been wired with explosives!
Roman cautiously approaches Marlena at the landing strip. Despite the fact that she is wired with explosives, he kisses her. In the process, he cleverly passes a "livesaver" from his mouth to hers. Marlena is startled at first, but then realizes it's a bug! While in flight, Marlena transmits the plane's location, but Ralph tosses the bug out the window, leaving Roman anguished.
Dr. Miller Apprehended
Mike and Robin work with the Justice Department to capture Dr. Miller. During a confrontation with Robert at the hospital, Miller pulls out his gun and Robert is shot. As Miller tears down the hall, Mike captures him. The former Nazi is arrested.
Alice Talks To Bo
Alice has a long talk with Bo. If he loves Hope, he'll tell her the truth, she advises. Later at the mansion, Bo catches Hope in his bedroom. He sees a picture of himself with his tatto and asks what's going on. She can't trust him, Hope says, explaining her refusal to divulge any information.
Bo finally discovers that everyone has lost faith in him. Deciding to do something to prove himself, he breaks into his father's desk. Bo is shocked to find a gun registration belonging to Britta. When he calls Shane to tell him about the evidence, Victor nearly catches him in the act. Victor talks to Bo about his loyalty to and pride in him. When Bo visits Shane, he's so torn that he can't betray his father.
Hope Learns The Truth
Hope packs for Stockholm, where along with Roman and Patch, she plans to put the pieces of the puzzle together. During an argument, as Bo tries to stop Hope from leaving, he finally blurts out the truth about why his risked losing her to stay at Victor's. Hope finally realizes that her husband really is on the right side. She agrees to pretend that they are on the verge of a divorce so that Bo will be able to bring Kiriakis down.
Hope goes to Stockholm with Roman and Patch. Their one hope of finding out about the tattoos and the meaning behind the "three knives" is to locate Gregory's wife, Lana. But the trio is startled to find Lana's dead body. No one knew they were to be in Stockholm, Roman says, wondering who killed Lana. When they turn around, they find the name "Roman Brady" written in blood!
Andrew In Salem!
Alex informs Emma that Andrew is back in Salem. Emma has Alex arrange a kidnapping story to send Kimberly and Shane on a wild goos chase so she can do something about getting rid of Andrew once again.
Meanwhile, Kimberly befriends Barbara Stewart, a nurse at the hospital. Knowing that Kimberly has lost her baby and could use a friend, Barbara invites Kim to dinner to meet her child. But Kim is prevented from going when Abe receives an anonymous tip that Andrew is being held for ransom somewhere. Kim and Shane go to the police station. As Barbara and husband Paul wait to hear from Kimberly, they hold there baby, who is none other than Andrew!
