July 21-August 1, 1986 Update
Patch gets information from Emma which leads him to the house in Cleveland where Kim and Shane are being held. Patch is about to capture Denason and Miss Harris and free Kim and Shane when Bo, Hope, and Kayla arrive. Thinking that Patch is the culprit, they stop him, letting Denason and Harris get away. When Bo, Hope and Kayla free Kim and Shane, they learn that there is no evidence against Patch.
The only hope they have for finding An drew is by checking Denason's files, Shane and Kimberly decide. They go to his office, but arrive minutes after the place has been burned and all the records destroyed. They are unaware that the fire was set by none other than Emma!
Patch is arrested for his part in the incident. Kayla watches as he's taken away, wondering if he is indeed guilty. Shane interrogates Patch, but Johnson isn't talking. He tells Shane to look at his enemies to learn who took Andrew. Shane still thinks it's Kiriakis, but then realizes that Emma might be a suspect.
Britta Forced Out Of Hiding
Roman stops by Shenanigans, where he almost locates Britta. She sees him first and disappears, just missing a televised report about Lars being taken into emergency.
Roman rushes to the hospital, where he learns that the emergency is a ruse to smoke out Britta. It works. Britta arrives to see Lars and Roman grabs her from behind. Ms. Englund's not leaving until she tells him what he needs to know about Stockholm! Roman insists. He tries to get her to accept his help, but Kiriakis interrupts and Britta gets away.
Britta decides to turn to Patch for help. She catches sight of him in the emergen cy center as he and Kayla walk in, arguing. As Patch tries to make Kayla understand that he's telling the truth about not having stolen Andrew, Britta hides. She thinks they are having a lovers' quarrel!
Alice Speaks to Bo
Alice visits Shawn and Caroline. She is determined to find out what is really going on with Bo and Hope, Mrs. Horton tells them. Next, Alice goes to the mansion, only to hear Hope asking Bo when they will get out of there. That makes it difficult for Bo to convince Alice that he really wants to be living with Victor. Their conversation is interrupted by news about Marlena.
Alice rushes to the hospital where she learns that Marlena has suffered cardiac arrest. When Bo shows up with Shawn and Caroline, Alice tells him that she knows he still loves his family. After Marlena's condition has stabilized, the Bradys and Hortons tell her how much she is loved and vow not to give up on her. When they leave, a tear runs down Marlena's cheek.
Jennifer And Melissa Held Hostage
Jennifer goes to Mike looking for advice about Glenn. He tells her to wait in the lounge. Meanwhile, Mr. Slater gets upset when Mike and Robin tell him that there is no heart donor for his son. Taking out a gun, he follows Jennifer into the lounge. When Melissa stops by, Slater holds the two girls hostage. If his son dies, so does Mike's sister, Slater warns young Dr. Horton. Unaware of her predicament, Glenn drops in to see Jennifer and immediately becomes involved in the plot to free the girls when Slater insists he be the one t6 bring in the food that has been ordered. While in the room, Glenn unlocks the window. After Glenn has gone, Melissa dumps coffee on Slater and she and Jennifer head for the door. However, Slater recovers before they can leave and shoots!
Having been shot, Melissa cries out in pain. When Pete jumps through the window, Slater agrees to let the injured Melissa go with Pete. This leaves Jennifer alone with Slater. Mike lures him out of the room. As they are walking, Slater is distracted and Glenn saves the day when he tackles Slater in the hallway.
Britta Tells Roman The Truth
A very sick Britta goes to Kayla for help. Later, Kayla tells Roman about a strange girl who was at the center. Following up on this tidbit, Roman finds Britta on the dock. Finally giving in, she spills all about the poster. Roman contacts a man in India named Billings, who prepares to fly to Salem. Billings will then give him the number of the Swiss bank deposit box where the spoils of the Stockholm caper are stored, Roman learns.
Patch finds out that Britta is staying with Roman. Confronted by Patch, Britta tries to convince him that she ran away to protect him as well as Lars. Lay off Britta, Patch begs Kiriakis. She can have her freedom if she reports to him, Kiriakis in forms Britta. Reluctantly, Britta tells him about Roman's meeting with Billings on the pier.
Roman goes to the pier to meet Billings, who pulls a no-show. Later, he is found shot. Roman rushes to the emergency center (where Billings has been taken) to speak to him. However Billings dies after whispering "three knives" to Roman.
Shane Goes After Emma
Shane and Peach start to put together evidence to prove that Emma kidnapped Andrew. Shane questions the neonatal nurse and attempts to get an identification of a composite picture of Emma. He is nearly caught by Kimberly, whom he has decided not to tell of his suspicions. He goes to the airport, and shows the picture to the stewardess who was on the flight to Cleveland, but she cannot identify Emma. After he has gone, Emma, having paid the woman of, steps out from hiding.
Emma catches on to what Shane is up to. She and Shane will never pin anything on her, Emma tells Kimberly who is stunned to learn that Shane even suspected Emma. Furious, Kim confronts Shane. She's lost all trust in him, Kim cries.
Bo Gives Victor A Lead
Bo accidentally learns that an illegal shipment is arriving in Europe early. He immediately informs Shane. Next, Bo makes Kiriakis believe that he is on his side when he lets Kiriakis know he heard that the shipment was being confiscated in Europe. As a test, Kiriakis orders Bo to go to Europe to make sure the next one arrives without a problem. Hope is furious. If he goes to Europe, she won't be there when he returns! Hope vows.
