by Lorraine Zenka This book is an "insider's guide" to Days. It features descriptions of the characters' homes, hot spots, businesses, get-aways, churches, and parks. The best part is, you can get all of the info found in the book on my web page! It's been on my web page for years. But, if you really want to buy the book... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0525943021/bethsdaysbooks08 |

by Gerard J. Waggett Waggett has proved himself as a soap aficianado, authoring a number of soap books to date including The As the World Turns Quiz Book : Celebrating Forty Years of the Popular Soap Opera, The Official All My Children Trivia Book , The Soap Opera Book of Lists, The Soap Opera Encyclopedia, The Official General Hospital Trivia Book and The Soap Opera Puzzle Book. Gerry contacted me as he wrote this book and I became a contributor, so it will be interesting to see what trivia items he includes from my page. This book is not yet available, but will arrive in March 1999. You may go ahead and order it and it will be shipped as soon as it's on the market. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1580630499/bethsdaysbooks08 |
by Gerard J. Waggett If you're a soap fan and love to do
puzzles, this book is for you. Created by soap expert Gerard
J. Waggett, author of the popular Soap Opera Book of Lists,
this fun- and trivia-filled puzzle book will put your
knowledge of soaps to the ultimate test. But you don't have
to be a puzzle expert--as long as you love the soaps, and
you'll have hours of fun teasing out the answers from all
the shows you've ever watched. To buy this book, go here:

by Macdonald Carey The late Macdonald Carey wrote this
autobiography in the late 1980s. It chronicles his career,
including his time on Days and the many years before. It
also provides insights into his years of alcoholism and how
he came through by writing poetry. For Days fans, it
includes family trees from the show as well as some
photographs. To buy this book, go here:

by Gerard J. Waggett
A unique look at TV's most successful
kind of show, this handy reference book is a must-have for
any soap fan. Readers will find the history and stars of all
the shows, including character breakdowns, storylines, and a
who's who with cast lists of all the featured actors and
behind-the-scenes personalities. This is the one and only
reference to nearly 100 soaps from the first 50 years of TV.

by Nancy E. Rout, Ellen Buckley,
Barney M. Rout (Editor) I don't know much about this book, but
it sounds fairly cool. It was written in late 1993 and
features stars from all the soaps. To buy this book, go here:

by Alisa Levien, Leona G. Barad
Again, I don't know much about this
book, but it sounds very complete and extensive. A must have
for fans. It was written in May 1998. To buy this book, go here: by Museum of Television, Radio, Ron
Simon, Robert J. Thompson, Robert M. Batscha
This heavily illustrated volume
features behind-the-scenes production shots and cast photos
from current popular soaps alongside cult and long-running
serials from the past. A specially created "family tree' of
soap creators and their shows and interviews with leading
writers, producers, actors, and directors further illuminate
the birth and growth of this television staple. 140
illustrations, 60 in color.

by Robert Munsch If it made you cry when you heard Sami
read a portion of this book to Will on January 18, 1999, you
will really cry when you read the whole thing. The book is
about the enduring nature of a parent's love and how it
crosses generations.

by Lorraine Zenka You can't truly call yourself a Days
fan until you own this book. Although it's been out since
late 1996, the 30 years of history it covers makes it more
than worthwhile. There's never been a Days book like this
one. It's filled with huge color photos, dating back to
1965. While it has a few factual inaccuracies, it's well
worth the price. In addition to the history, you'll find
backstage interviews, fun facts, and a full cast
list.

by Paulette Cohn, Dotty Griffith, Greg
Meng, Maureen Russell While I haven't tried any of the
recipies in the book (which include Brady Clam Chowder and
Alice's Famous Cake Doughnuts), I recommend the book on
pictures alone. It's filled with fabulous color photos of
your favorite Days stars, past and present. There are even a
few wedding photos included. The random Days tidbits that
are thrown in are reminiscent of some sections on my
page. by Gerard J. Waggett
This book is filled with soap opera
trivia. It includes information about actors as well as
characters and storylines. Waggett has definitely done his
research. This is no ordinary trivia book. You'll find facts
here that you haven't seen anywhere else (with the possible
exception of my page). For example, did you know that Peter
Reckell broke his hand in two places when filming a fight
scene with some Russian agents on Days? by Maureen Russell Russell is first and foremost a Days
fan. She'd always been told that she knew so much about the
show that she should write a book, so she did. Russell
obtained photos from the personal collections of Bill and
Susan Seaforth Hayes among others. They are wonderfully
sprinkled throughout the book. Russell's compiled the most
comprehensive castlist for Days that's ever been seen. Her
list includes numerous under 5 and non-contract roles as
well as regular cast members. To buy this book, go here:

Of Our Lives fans. The book features a chapter on Bobby Hart
and Tommy Boyce, who of course wrote the program's classic
title tune (as well as the early character themes). The
chapter details the creation of said title tune and provides
interesting background on the program's genesis. The book is
published by Askill. (ISBN: 0-9545750-1-6). More information
