Background and Prologue

Alan Harris is an old buddy of Lucas' from their days together at military school, who appeared sometime during the end of 1993/early 1994. Upon seeing Carrie Brady, Alan falls madly in love with her. He goes on and on thinking about her, envious of Lucas, who knows her and talks to her. Eventually, Lucas introduces Alan to Carrie and the two hit it off. They meet occasionally and talk. During the time Carrie is separated from Austin, she considers dating Alan, but eventually the two get back together and so Alan's chances with Carrie go up in flames. Instead of moving on with his life, Alan obsesses over Carrie. It is now, February of 1994 and Carrie and Austin plan a trip to a ski lodge up on Green Mountain. Hearing Carrie and Austin will be there, Lucas asks his buddy, Alan, to go up to the mountain with him. Lucas is secretly in love with Carrie, also. Hearing Carrie will be there, Alan agrees to go with Lucas. When they arrive at the ski resort, Alan intentionally provokes Lucas and gets into a fight with him. During this fight, Alan hits Lucas on the lips. Carrie and Austin are in their cabin about to make love and having a great time. Austin goes out to get something and walks far from the cabin. A character, wearing a black mask overlooks Carrie from outside. Carrie decides to take a bath. She undresses and immerses herself in the water. Suddenly she hears noises from outside, but doesn't pay much attention to them. The masked character makes noise outside. Carrie gets out of the bath and into a lovely negligee, thinking romantic thoughts about Austin. Suddenly, the masked person bursts in and grabs Carrie. Frantic and afraid, Carrie fights back. She manages to thump her attacker in the lips. She kicks and hits him. He throws her on the bed, but she kicks him off her and he hurts his head and runs away. Carrie starts crying. When Austin arrives back, he finds Carrie, sitting on the floor. She is crying and her negligee is torn. He asks her what is it and she sobbingly tells him of the attack, clinging to him. Austin calms her down and they leave the lodge.

Days pass and Austin is worried over Carrie, since she refuses to see a doctor, go to the police, or talk to a therapist. At another part of town, we see Alan removing a black mask from his face, after thinking back at the attack. Alan keeps hanging out with Lucas. One day, Sami bumps into Alan and Lucas and Lucas introduces him to her. Alan remarks Sami looks an awful lot like Carrie and Sami is excited about the attention she gets from a gorgeous guy like Alan. Later, Sami meets with her best friend, Jamie, and tells her about meeting the gorgeous Alan. She also tells her she wishes he'd ask her out.

March 1994:
Alan finally asks Sami out and they go out. During their date Carrie sees them. Carrie takes Sami aside and tells her Alan is too old for her. Sami tells Carrie she is not her mother and so, she can't tell her what to do. Carrie seeks out Marlena and Roman and tells them about Sami dating Alan. Later, when Alan brings Sami home, Marlena is there and she tells him there a rule of the house- Sami can't date anyone over eighteen. Alan acts like a good little scouts boy and says he'll stop seeing Sami. Sami is already very angry with her mother for breaking up the family over her romance with John, and gets furious with her when she sends Alan away. She yells at her that when she moved out of the house, she gave up all rights to her and so, she can't tell her what to do. She then runs upstairs to her room. It is now 8th of the month and it's Carrie's birthday. A surprise party is thrown for her. Alan is there, too. When the lights go out for Carrie to blow out her birthday cake candles, she catches a glimpse of Alan's figure in the dark and starts freaking out, screaming for someone to turn on the light. Someone gets the lights and Austin hugs Carrie. He tells her he knew this would happen and tries convincing her to see a therapist, or at least Marlena, but Carrie refuses, telling Austin the only way she can get over this, is by going back with him to the lodge and spend the night there. Alan hears them talking about it. A few days after that, Sami and Alan secretly meet and kiss for the first time. After Sami leaves, Alan addresses Carrie and say, "Well, maybe I can't have you, Carrie, but I sure can have your sister." A few days later, Alan tells Sami he wants to take her to a frat party. He tells her she'll need a fake ID for it. Sami asks Jamie to help her with that. She somehow acquires the ID and goes to tell Alan she has it.

April 1994:
Sami arrives to tell Alan about getting the fake ID. He is on the phone telling Carrie he'll meet her later. Sami gets upset, asking him why is he making dates with Carrie. Alan explains it is just so she won't be suspicious and Sami is pleased. Alan meets with his psychiatrist later and tells him about him obsessing over a girl. He tells him he has strong sexual feelings for her, too and insinuates he is planning on raping her. The psychiatrist asks him to see another psychiatrist friend of his and Alan agrees, only a few days later, he sees his psychiatrist approaching Marlena about him and runs off before she sees him. Meanwhile, Carrie and Austin plan their return to the ski lodge. Austin's car is in bad shape and he worries it won't make it up to the mountain. Alan passes by and tells Austin about the auto mechanic's lesson he took in military school and offers him to fix his car for him. Austin thanks him and Alan starts working on the car. Later, he calls the police hot line and informs them he is about to rape a girl. Marlena answers the call, as she is there and is asked to talk to the guy, but Alan quickly hangs up after he realizes it is Dr. Evans. Meanwhile, Austin drives up to the mountain. Carrie is already there, waiting for him. Half way to the cabin, his car breaks down and Austin is stranded in the middle of the road. Meanwhile, in Salem, Alan picks up Sami for the frat party. They arrive there and Alan slips a drug into Sami's drink. Sami drinks a lot anyhow and passes out on a sofa. Alan puts her is a side room and drives up to the cabin. He overlooks Carrie from the outside again and puts on his mask. Unfortunately for him, Austin manages to hitch a ride and arrives unexpectedly. Alan damns him and returns to Salem. He returns to the frat party and awakens Sami. She acts groggily. He takes her home and she gets into bed. The next day, Bo speaks out in Sami's high school about date rape and rape in general. Alan arrives and talks to Sami during break. Sami accuses him of leaving her alone at the party for a long time, but he tells her he only went away for a few minutes and since she was drunk, it seemed to her like it was more. Sometime after that, Sami goes out with her dad, Roman, to a Marx Brothers Festival at Salem Place. She sees Alan dressed as one of the Brothers and goes outside to him. There, they kiss, but Sami hurries in, telling Alan she doesn't want her dad to suspect anything. After Sami leaves, Alan again addresses Carrie, telling her she'd regret having slept with Austin, but "For the meantime, I'll settle for Sami."

May 1994:
Roman tells Sami he'll be away from home for sometime, as he needs to go away on an assignment. Sami happily phones Alan and tells him her dad will be away. They set to have a romantic dinner together at her place. Alan phones the police hot line again and tells them someone he wants, will soon be his. Alan later arrives to the Brady's', but before he can do anything, Carrie arrives unexpectedly. Sami hides Alan in the kitchen and after Carrie leaves, she goes to retrieve Alan, but he's gone. A few days later, Sami tells Alan about a biology test she has. He tells her they'll meet later and study together. Sami asks Jamie to cover for her. Jamie seems skeptical about Alan's interest in Sami when Sami tells her about him. She and Alan set to meet at the Pub. Later, Sami arrives to the Pub, but doesn't see Alan. He is inside, calling the hot line again, telling them, "The girl I told you about- I'm going to have her this night, one way or the other I'm gonna show her what a real man does." He goes outside and tells Sami they'll be driving up to the hill to view the city. Sami asks what about the exam and he promises her he'll teach her a way to ace tests up there. A couple of days later, Sami prepares her homework at Alan's. A flyer warning girls about a rapist on the loose in Salem, drops from her bag. Alan looks at it and recalls him calling the police hot line. Sami gets up and tells Alan she needs to go, only when she tries to open the door, it's locked. Sami unlocks the door and Alan drives her home. Inside, Carrie and Roman are making dinner. Sami enters the house after kissing Alan goodbye. She goes inside the kitchen and Carrie asks her who is it that tutoring her. Sami answer it's just some guy from her school, remarking he's gorgeous. She then phones Alan, but he doesn't answer. Alan is at the dock. He sees a girl passing by. She looks at the posters warning girls about the rapist. He puts on his mask. A cop passes by and tells the girl to go home. She does. Wendy passes by on her way to the "Cheatin' Heart". Alan jumps her and covers her mouth with his hand. Wendy manages to scream. Austin and Jonah are inside. They hear the screams. Wendy fights back. She bites Alan in the hand. Austin and Jonah run in his direction, so he lets go of Wendy and runs off. Austin goes after him, but doesn't catch him. He does, however, picks up a piece of the rapist's shirt, which got torn during the chase. Mike arrives to where Wendy is and checks her. She is O.K. and Jonah escorts her home. Alan arrives to his house. He damns "that girl". The phone rings and it's Sami. She tells him she'll see him tomorrow. Alan hangs up and says, "I'll be waiting for you, Sami." The day after, Alan bandages his hand in town, when Lucas arrives. Alan tells him he cut his hand. Lucas complaints about Carrie working with Austin. Alan tells him to forget about Carrie, but Lucas taunts Alan, telling him he doesn't know anything about girls. He tells him all the guys know he didn't score at military school. Serious, Alan tells Lucas he'll score that night. Lucas keeps mocking him, telling him he's dreaming and walks away. He suddenly sees Sami and says, "You're wrong, Lucas. I will score tonight." Sami approaches him and shows him she got an "A" on a paper they did together. They go to the Pub, where Roman is. Wendy and Jonah are there, too, showing Roman the flyers about the rapist. Alan tells Roman he'd love to help distributing them and Roman replies, "We need more guys like you in this world, young man." Sami tells Alan she'll see him later and he leaves. Jamie hears her and warns her to be careful. Sami later arrives at Alan's. He pulls out a camera and tells her he wants to take pictures of her. Sami is reluctant at first, but then melts and poses sexily and provocatively for him. He then puts the camera down and kisses her. He lies her on the sofa and starts to aggressively kiss her. Sami asks him to stop but he doesn't. Alan keeps kissing her and undressing her roughly.

The Story

Alan puts on his pants. Sami is curled up on the sofa, almost half-naked. Alan tells her he didn't know she was a virgin. He tells her it was a big honor to be her first. Sami simply replies, "I told you to stop, but you didn't." Alan asks her if she blames him for what happened and tells her that if he wanted to rape her, he would have a long time ago. He also tells her she came there on her own free will and obviously she came for one thing. Sami just keeps saying she said "No". Alan then tells Sami that if she tells her father about this, he'll be hurt again, just like her mother hurt him. Sami suddenly becomes quiet. She then says she'll go to a rape center, but Alan tells her they'll call her parents and they'll be hurt. Sami tells him she can't think straight and leaves.

June 1994:
Sami stands outside Brady Pub quietly. Roman arrives and asks her what's wrong, but Sami replies nothing is. They go inside and Lexie and Abe arrive. They tell Roman about setting up a rape hot line, for victims of rape to call to. Later, Roman leaves and Sami disguise her voice and calls the hot line. Lexie answers. Sami asks what if when you're with a guy and he wants to have sex, but you say no, if that's rape. Lexie tells her it's date-rape and asks her to come and talk to someone. Sami hangs up. Lexie tells Abe, who is also there, that the voice sounded familiar to her. Outside the Pub, Alan arrives. He grabs Sami aside as she steps out. He gives her flowers and tells her, "Thanks for a very special evening." He also tells her he knows she's confused right now, but if she thinks about it, she'll realize what happened was wonderful. He tries to kiss her, but Sami moves away from him. Alan leaves and Sami starts to cry. A few days later, Sami goes out to a club with friends. Alan is there. He asks her to dance, but Sami refuses. He tries to touch her neck, but Sami moves away. When he asks her what is it, Sami tells him he raped her. He then pulls out the pictures he took of her and tells her no one would believe her. "You and your pictures make me sick," replies Sami and runs off. A couple of days later, Sami dreams of the rape. She wakes up and fixes herself a huge breakfast, enough for four. Jamie arrives and asks her why so much food. Sami says she is just hungry, as she didn't eat last night. Jamie senses something's wrong with Sami. She asks her about it, but Sami tells her no one will believe her. Jamie tries convincing her she will, but Sami won't tell her. Later, Sami arrives at her psychiatrist's office. She picks up brochures about rape. Jamie comes out of the doctor's office (it is after we learn Jamie's dad abused her sexually) and tells Sami she now knows it wasn't her fault her dad did what he did to her. She also tells Sami her doctor wants her to have a pregnancy, AIDS and other STD tests. Jamie asks Sami if she broke up with Alan and Sami tells her she isn't seeing him anymore. Jamie then leaves. Later, Sami is walking down the hall, as Alan snicks up behind her. He shows her more pictures and says, "It'll be a shame if I need to show these if I have to prove I didn't rape you". He asks Sami if she plans on telling anyone and she says she won't and walk away. A few days later, Sami is looking at AIDS brochures at the hospital. Alan arrives and asks her if he should be worried about sleeping with her. Sami angrily replies she is the one who should be worried. Alan simply replies, "I know I don't have AIDS, same way I know I didn't rape you." Sami goes inside the doctor's office and tells her she's doing an essay about teenagers having sex. The doctor explains to her about AIDS and asks Sami if she came for anything more than just information for an essay, assuring her what ever she says, will be confidential between she and her. Sami tells her she had unprotected sex. The doctor tells her she needs to take an AIDS test and so should the guy. The doctor sets the appointment for Sami and she leaves. She sees Alan and gives him an AIDS brochure, asking him to take the test and inform her of the results. A few days later, Sami is at the hospital again. She suddenly hears her mother talking to Jamie. Marlena tells Jamie sex crimes are an awful thing and adds it's not the victim's fault. Alan snicks up behind Sami and asks her to be friends. She yells at him he raped her and runs off. Later, she phones the clinic from the Pub and is informed she's not HIV positive. She goes home and on the way sees Alan. She tells him she's not HIV positive and he tells her he didn't have the test done yet. Sami tells him he should, as he may be a carrier, adds she needs to take a pregnancy test too and leaves. The next day, Sami and Roman are in the Pub. Roman senses Sami's upset. He asks her what is it. She tells him she can't take it anymore. "Is it your bulimia?" asks Roman. Alan arrives and hears them, before Sami answers her dad, Alan approaches them and tells Roman, "I'm the source for Sami's being upset." He falsely explains he was the one that told her Tom had died and she didn't take it well. Sami acknowledges. Bo arrives and Roman goes aside to talk to him. Alan angrily asks Sami if she was about to tell Roman. Sami simply tells him she may be pregnant. Alan tells her that if she is, he has some money stashed aside. Sami replies she won't have an abortion and adds she'll tell her dad. "Do you really want your dad to find out his innocent little virgin is having sex?" asks Alan. "You raped me," replies Sami. Alan advises her to take sometime off before she does anything foolish. Later, Sami tells Roman she wants to go visit Eric in Colorado. Roman agrees and Sami hugs him, overlooking a smiling Alan above her father's shoulder.

July 1994:
After getting back from Colorado, Sami arrives at the Pub. Alan snicks up behind her. Sami threatens him she'll tell her dad and Uncle Bo, the cops. Alan threatens back, using the pictures. He leaves and Sami calls a free clinic for a pregnancy test. Suddenly a young mother, named Marry from Sami's school enters the Pub and tells Sami how hard it is to have a baby in high school. Later, Sami and Carrie are walking through Salem Place. Carrie asks her sister if everything is O.K. Sami replies it is and Carrie leaves. Alan approaches Sami and she yells at him to leave her the hell alone. He asks her if she's pregnant. Sami tells him her appointment is later and when she leaves for the clinic, Alan follows her. When they arrive there, Alan bugs Sami outside the clinic, telling her to get it over with quick. Lucas passes by and sees the two. Later, Lucas meets Alan at the latest Salem hang-out, the Titan Health Club. He asks him what's the deal with Sami. Alan replies it's nothing and Lucas warns him about trying to take advantage of Sami, sexually. Sami later arrives and tells Alan she is not pregnant. She leaves and then Alan takes out her pictures and says, "I know you want me, Sami." He moves aside and leaves his bag on the counter. Lucas approaches the bag and opens Alan's wallet for some change. Alan arrives and grabs it away from him. Later, Lucas goes through it again and uncovers Sami's pictures. He asks Alan what the hell is that. At her place, Carrie tells Sami today is Austin's birthday. She asks her to help her plan a party. Carrie then tells Sami about a nice young man from her work, she thinks she can hook her up with, but Sami refuses harshly. Carrie doesn't get why. At the club, Alan yells at Lucas he had no right going through his wallet. Lucas accuses him of making Sami pose like that and also accuses him of wanting to have sex with Sami, saying that's why he was with her at the free clinic- to get Sami on the pill. Alan replies it's not true and Lucas yells at him, "I'll get the whole story from Sami" and leaves. A few days later, Jamie suggests to Sami that they go see a movie. A girl named Janet arrives and tells the two about a gorgeous guy named Alan asking her out. Sami tells her she shouldn't date him, but Janet won't listen. Lucas arrives and asks Sami to talk to her, but she grabs Jamie away and takes her inside the movies. Lucas follows them. At the movies, Jamie and Sami see Janet kissing with Alan. Alan moves aside and Sami approaches Janet. She tells her she shouldn't be dating Alan, but Janet accuses her of being jealous. "What's the nature of your relationship with Alan, anyway?" asks Janet, as Alan snicks up behind Sami, saying he can answer that. He grabs Sami aside and tells her to get a grip, threatening her he'll show Roman the pictures. Sami worries and becomes quiet. They get back to Janet and Jamie and Alan says that when he and Sami broke up, Sami didn't take it lightly. Alan and Janet leave and so does Jamie. Lucas approaches Sami and asks her if Alan made her sleep with him. Sami yells at him to leave her alone and runs off. When she exits the cinema, Alan grabs her. He tells her, "You're my girl, Sami. I don't care about Janet." He tries kissing her, but Sami pushes him off. "One day you'll be begging me to touch you," says Alan, as Sami runs off. She arrives at Alice's. Lucas arrives too and again asks her if Alan made her have sex with him. She tells him she said no. Lucas doesn't understand and Sami says, "He raped, me, Lucas. Alan raped me." She tells him Alan was too strong for her. Later, he and Sami are at the Pub. Lucas sees Roman and tells Sami they have to tell him. Sami replies she doesn't want her dad to find out and adds she has no proof of rape and Alan got those pictures of her. Lucas again tells Sami they should tell Roman, but she says no. Lucas then tells her he'll teach Alan a lesson and runs to his house. Banging on the door, he screams, "Come on, you cowered! Open up!" Alan isn't home. Lucas goes over to the Health Club. Alan is there. He confronts him about raping Sami, but Alan denies it, adding Sami is just afraid Roman would find out she had sex with him. Sami just arrives and yells, "You did rape me!" Lucas then attacks Alan and pins him to the floor. He takes out his wallet to look for the pictures, but they're not there. Laughingly, Alan says, "I have them safely hidden away. They're proof of what happened that night, you know, Sami." Lucas lets him go and he leaves. After he does, Sami says, "He's right, Lucas. No one will believe me that he raped me."

August 1994:
Roman arrives to the Pub. Lucas is there. He approaches him to tell him about Sami, but Sami looks at him pleadingly, so he doesn't. Sami asks him to keep it a secret. Lucas says he will, but warns Sami it's not healthy to keep it all bottled inside. He moves aside and says to himself, "I'm sorry, Sami, but that is one secret I can't keep hidden away." The next day, Roman arrives to the Pub to say goodbye (It is August 2nd and Roman is leaving Salem). Lucas is there with Sami, telling her to tell Roman before he leaves, but Sami refuses. Lucas goes outside, as Carrie arrives. Sami hugs Roman and sees Lucas with Carrie. She goes outside and tells Carrie dad wants to see her. To Lucas she says she knows he wanted to tell Carrie and yells at him to get the hell away from her. Lucas goes away and Alan pops up. He tells Sami that now that Roman is away, he and she could spend a lot of time together. "Leave the window open for me, Sami," he says, as she turns and returns inside the Pub. Inside, Carrie says she's going home. Sami gives her her jacket. Carrie puts it on and exits. Thinking it's Sami, Alan puts his hand on Carrie's shoulder. When she turns, he sees it's Carrie and he tells her she had something on her shoulder. Carrie leaves and accidentally drops her hair band. Alan picks it up, and sniffing it, he addresses Carrie saying, "Oh, Carrie. You're the only one for me." On her way home, Carrie bumps into Lucas. Unable to keep it to himself anymore, he tells her about the rape and Carrie says they have to tell Roman. They hurry to the airport. Meanwhile, Sami arrives at Alan's. She tells him Jamie is downstairs and that if she's not back in ten minutes, Jamie will call the cops. Alan notices Sami cut her hair and tells her it looks like Carrie's. Sami tells him that now that her dad is gone, she doesn't want him to come near her and threatens him that if he does, she'll kill him. Sami leaves and Alan says to himself he doesn't need her anymore, as Carrie is the one for him. He then opens a kitchen cupboard and there's a creepy "shrine" for Carrie inside. The two doors and three shelves are filled with pictures and stuff of Carrie's. Alan adds the hair band to his psychotic collection. Carrie and Lucas arrive at the airport, only they are too late, as her dad's flight has already departed. The next day, Carrie and Lucas ask Sami to get counseling, but Sami refuses. Carrie says she'll take care of Alan herself and she and Lucas hurry to his place. There, after breaking in and going through his apartment, Carrie finds the "shrine". Amazed and disgusted, she looks at it. Suddenly, she finds a black mask on one of the shelves. She recognizes it and realizes Alan was the one that tried attacking her- "Lucas, Alan was the one who tried to attack me at the ski lodge!"

A few days after, Lucas tells Carrie about the fact that all the girls Alan dated in military school, he dated only once. They phone one girl, named Elaine Parker and tell her about Alan raping Sami. She confesses he raped her, too, but refuses to help them, since she has a new life and a fiancé?e now. Carrie tells Lucas they have no choice but to catch Alan themselves, using her as bait. The next day, Carrie sees Alan at the Health Club. She asks him to dinner at her place. When he asks what about Austin, Carrie deceivingly tells him she and Austin are seeing other people, too. She asks him to come over later and he agrees. Alan moves aside and Carrie and Lucas set to record the meeting. Later, Lucas buys listening devices and puts them in a gym bag. He puts it next to Alan's gym bag, which looks the same. He then accidentally picks up Alan's bag and leaves. When he realizes it, he phones Alan and asks him to meet. They meet and before separating, Alan asks Lucas to put his bag in his car. He gives Lucas his bag and Lucas switches the bags. He then arrives at Carrie's and hooks her up to a hidden microphone. The lights suddenly go out (It's the big Salem blackout). Alan calls Carrie and tells her he's stuck at the Titan building. She asks for a rain check and hangs up. Lucas takes the microphone off her and leaves. At the Titan building, Alan finds the emergency steps and goes down them, saying he'll surprise Carrie at her place. Someone knocks on the door, at Carrie's. She opens the door to find Alan there. He steps inside and kisses her immediately. Carrie pushes him off and goes inside the bathroom with the phone. She phones the Pub, but Jamie tells her Lucas isn't there. She goes back to Alan and he starts dancing with her. Meanwhile, Lucas and Austin get word their mother is trapped at the Titan building and they hurry over there. Carrie keeps avoiding Alan by asking him if he wants to drink, etc. She again enters the bathroom and phones Jamie, asking her if she got a hold of Lucas. Jamie says she didn't and Alan asks Carrie who is she talking to. She picks up the transistor and tells him she was listening to the radio. She goes back to the living room and Alan asks her what is it. She says she's worried about her family and wants to go by the Pub. Alan tells her he thinks she doesn't want to be with him, but Carrie tells him she does, but is just worried. She touches his shoulder and asks him to go to the Pub. Alan says O.K., only if they go by his place later. Carrie agrees and goes back inside the bathroom. She wonders how will she let Lucas know where she is and sees the mini tape recorder in her purse. She leaves a message for Austin and Lucas, saying she'll be at the Pub with Alan or at Alan's. She returns to the living room and Alan asks her why is she acting so funny. She replies she's just stressed out because of the blackout. He puts his arm around her and tells her he'll protect her. They exit the apartment and Carrie hangs the tape recorder on the doorknob. After rescuing Kate from the falling elevator car, Austin tells Lucas he phoned the Pub and Jamie told him Carrie was looking for him. Lucas phones Carrie, but there's no answer. Austin demands to know what's wrong. Lucas tells him about Carrie's idea and they hurry over to her place. On their way to the Pub, Alan grabs Carrie and tells her they'll be going to his place now. Carrie insists she's going to the Pub with or without him. Alan produces a knife from his pocket and says, "I've been waiting along time for this, Carrie, and no woman will tell me what to do." He puts the knife to her throat and drags her to his place. There, Carrie asks Alan why is he trying to hurt her and he tells her he isn't and that he loves her. He shows her his demented shrine for her. Meanwhile, Austin and Lucas arrive at Carrie's but don't find her there. Austin demands the whole story. Lucas tells him about Alan raping Sami and of Carrie's idea to entrap him. They find the tape-recorder and listen to it. They hurry to the Pub first. Meanwhile, at Alan's, Carrie tries to convince him to put the knife down, but he won't. She makes a run for it to the door, but he grabs her. After not finding Carrie at the Pub, Austin and Lucas loudly arrive at Alan's building. Carrie hears their voices and drops one of her earrings on to the floor. Alan moves a chest and there's a secret room behind it. He gags Carrie and takes her inside it. The two break in and see no one. They do find the shrine, and when Austin sees the black mask, he gathers Alan was the one who tried to rape Carrie up on the mountain. They decide to go knock on some neighbors' doors to ask around. No neighbor has seen Alan so they return to his apartment. They wonder where could Carrie be, then find her earring on the floor. They're now sure she was there and head out looking for her around town. They end up at UH, where they meet Abe to ask for his help.

After making sure Austin and Lucas left, Alan takes Carrie out of the secret room and ties her to a chair. He wants to gag her too, but Carrie pleads him not to. Carrie asks him why did he do that to her. She tells him she liked him and Alan asks her why did she dump him then. He says she's just like the rest of them. When Carrie asks whom and asks him to let her help him, Alan says many psychologists didn't help so who can she. He remarks that when you come from a screwed up family, no one can heal you. He tells her his mother was a beautiful woman and that many men used to look at her. A thing his father didn't like. Carrie asks him if he got violent about it and Alan answers he did. When Carrie asks him to tell her some more, he tells her his mother is dead, because she lied to his father. He says he feels bad for his father the most, because he knows what's it like to be lied to. He tells Carrie his father killed his mother. Carrie says she's sorry and Alan calls her a liar. He says she lied about Austin, because he was there, looking for her, which means they're emotionally involved. Carrie deceivingly replies she can't help how Austin feels. Alan becomes upset, claiming she and Austin saw the "shrine" and planned to trap him and that why she's there. Carrie denies it and tells Alan she has a confession to make- she's starting to have feelings for him. Carrie tells Alan she used to fantasize about a man, who will love her, so much and do anything for her and adds he is the realization of that fantasy. She asks him for some food and to free her. Alan seems reluctant at first, but Carrie tells him he can trust her and he unties her. While he gets wine for them, Carrie turns the listening device on. Alan gets back to Carrie and asks her if she loves him. She replies she does. At the hospital, Alan's voice suddenly comes out of Lucas' listening unit and Abe, Austin and he listen to it. They hear Alan telling Carrie that if she loves him, she needs to prove it. He asks her to make love to him. Everyone is shocked and Alan approaches Carrie and kneels by her, asking her if she really loves him. On several occasions Alan attempts to kiss Carrie, but she stops him with all sorts of excuses, one of which is that she has a fantasy of a romantic dinner with formal dressing.

Sami arrives to the hospital and sees Lucas, Austin and Abe. She asks what's going on and Lucas tells her about Alan and Carrie and that they're listening in. He tells her they didn't tell Abe about Alan raping her. Marlena shows up, too, and becomes worried when they fill her in. Everyone except Sami move to Police HQ. Sami tells Jamie Carrie is in trouble. She gathers she and Alan must be at his apartment. She places a call with the police, informing them of her plans to go over to Alan's, but she talks too fast and the officer who picked up the call doesn't understand her. Sami hangs up and runs over to Alan's.

At Alan's, he shows Carrie the picture he took of Sami, saying she wanted to sleep with him. He suddenly becomes frantic and accuses Carrie of deceiving him. The connection becomes static, so Abe, Lucas, Austin and Marlena can't hear anything. Alan tears Carrie blouse and reveals the hidden mic. He grabs Carrie, while she tells him she wants to help him, as she struggles for the door, Sami bursts in yelling at him to leave her sister alone! He then grabs Sami and puts the knife to her throat. He says he'll kill them both, but first he needs a car. He ties them both, back to back in his secret room and leaves. He breaks into a parked car and tries to hot-wire it. Austin and Lucas, who couldn't sit around at police HQ, see him and a chase begins. Alan manages to lose them. They go back to police HQ and inform Abe. Jamie arrives and tells them of Sami going to help Carrie. Marlena panics even more. At Alan's, the girls manage to free themselves and head for the door, where a sweaty angry Alan meets them. He tells them there's no way out- "The Brady Sisters are going to pay, big time!"

Meanwhile at police HQ, everyone listens to the tape of Carrie and Alan's conversations. When they listen closely, the hear a train in the background. They produce track route maps to try and find out where the girls are. At Alan's, Carrie whispers something at Sami's ear, while Alan is on the phone, trying to arrange a car from a friend. They fake a fight between them over who is to blame. Sami says Carrie always goes for the men she's interested in. She then tells Alan she said he raped her because she was angry at him for being in love with Carrie really. Meanwhile, Carrie snicks up behind him. She hits him over the head with a bottle and he falls to the floor. They head for the door, realizing it's locked and that the keys are on Alan. Sami tries taking them from the supposedly unconscious Alan, but he grabs her when she reaches for his pocket. Meanwhile, at police HQ, Lucas and Austin see a track running along Baxter St. Lucas says that's where Alan leaves. They realize they must have come back there and hurry over. Abe and Marlena left for UH to question people. They find out form a nurse that Sami said something about a guy named Alan and his apartment. They hurry over to his place, too. Alan grabs Sami by the neck, yelling she, Carrie and all women are liars and he that he'll kill them both right there! He starts ringing Sami's neck as Lucas and Austin burst in and Austin smashes him in the face, yelling he's a sick sonofabitch and hurrying to hug Carrie. Sami begs the three not to tell anyone about Alan raping her, as Marlena and Abe arrive. Abe arrests Alan and Marlena demands to know why they haven't called the police to tell them about their plan to entrap Alan.

Everyone goes back to police HQ, to give their depositions. Sami is very shaken up and Lucas is trying to calm her down. She asks him again not to tell anyone. When Abe informs them Alan made bail and will be free to go, Carrie asks how they can let a rapist go. Abe is puzzled, as he booked Alan for kidnapping and assault. Lucas jumps in and explains about the girl they met, whom Alan had raped (Elaine). Abe says unless the girl comes forward about the rape, there's nothing he can do. Carrie and Austin and Lucas try to convince Sami to come forward. She refuses, saying she wouldn't be able to stand in court and tell what Alan had done to her. Abe brings Alan in and starts to take his cuffs off. Alan thanks Sami, for she is the one to thank for his release. She yells "No" and says she'd like to press charges. As Abe asks her for what, Marlena walks in just in time to hear her daughter's confession- "Alan raped me!"

September 1994:
Sami sits down to give her statement. She tells everyone about how Alan raped her that night. Alan says she wanted it and that she was a liar. He says he has the pictures to prove it. Sami says she was a fool t let him take those pictures. Abe takes Alan out. Everyone leaves. Carrie thanks Lucas on their way out. Marlena confides in Abe she wishes Sami will let her get close to her again, as Sami seemed reluctant to accept Marlena's comfort gestures. He promises Sami will come around one day and says he'll do his best to keep this matter private, avoiding any publicity. On her way out, Sami sees Alan in the interrogation room. She tells him she's not afraid of him and his filthy pictures. He menacingly replies that by the time the media is through with her, everyone will know what a slut she it.

The next day, Sami expresses concerns to Carrie and Lucas about everyone finding out she was raped at the trial. They reassure her no one will know she's the girl Alan raped. Alan make bail and goes over to the Health Club where Sami, Carrie and Lucas are. He bumps into Sami and again threatens the trail will only prove what a slot she is. Sami freaks out and Carrie arrives to comfort her, reassuring her the trail will not ruin her life, as she claims.

Sami and Carrie meet DA Pat Hamilton to discuss their case. Pat confides in Sami she was raped too and knows how she feels. She tells Sami they don't have an easy case and that it all boils down to her word against Alan's. She adds Anson Tobias, Alan's sharp lawyer, is tough. Carrie suddenly remembers Elaine and says they must get her to confess.

At Tobias' office, the attorney asks Alan if he did it. Alan replies he didn't even as much as touched Sami. He says Sami undressed for him and shows him the pictures. He explains that when he refused to sleep with Sami, she cried rape. Tobias promises him he won't spend a day in prison, then.

Jamie and Sami are at the park, having a picnic. Alan lurks around as three friends of his come up to him, showing him an article about the rape in the newspaper. When the four of them stumble across Sami and Jamie, Alan calls her a slut again and says his friends saw her getting drunk and coming on to him at the frat party. They says they did as Carrie and Austin arrive. Austin provokes Alan and they start to fight. Carrie breaks them up and says Sami has no reason to lie. They warn Alan to stay away from Sami.

Up to the preliminary hearing, Alan has snuck up on Sami on several occasions and tried to unbalance her confidence. Meanwhile, Sami gained more and more faith and trust in her big sister Carrie as she, despite of Austin's protest, always promised Sami Alan will get what is coming to him. She feels even more sure of that after she and Lucas manage to persuade Elaine to testify against Alan. When Sami hears that she is feels totally safe in Carrie's promises of good fortune. Only unbeknownst to anyone, Alan has learned form his new lawyer, Fred Gillane, that the prosecution had contacted Elaine. He goes over to her house and threatens her not to testify.

The day of the hearing arrives and Judge Robert Leffler asks Alan how he pleads. Alan pleads not guilty on two kidnapping charges and rape. Sami is called to take the stand and Pat Hamilton asks her to describe the events of May 31st, when the alleged rape took place. Sami says she and Alan had a date and that she cooked dinner for him. Pat asks her if they had a normal, laughing and having fun, regular kind of date and Sami acknowledges. Sami goes on telling how in his apartment, Alan changed and started kissing her. Then, he got aggressive and rough and tore her clothes off and raped her. Alan gets up and yells Sami is a liar. The judge asks Fred Gillane to control his client and he calms Alan down. Sami looks at Carrie for averment and Carrie nods her head affectionately. Sami says she's not lying and that she believes in telling the truth. She says Alan was very strong and that she fought back and pleaded, but that eventually she stopped and after he finished, Alan acted as though nothing sinister had happened and that he told her she'd wanted it and that it had been her fault. Tears fall onto Sami's cheek and Fred gets up to question Sami. He asks her to confirm she said she believes in telling the truth and Sami does so. He asks her why was it, then, that she lied to her parents about dating Alan and about going to the frat party with Alan and getting drunk. She acknowledges she did lie and Fred asks her wasn't she the one who initiated a relationship with Alan. Sami answer "Yes". He asks her if she even posed in pictures to which he refers as "Sexy Pictures". Sami answers "Yes". Fred concludes that Sami initiated the relationship with Alan, posed for him and wanted to sleep with him! Pat objects, by saying Sami did not want to have sex with Alan. When Fred continues to attack Sami by saying she wanted Alan, Pat objects, claiming he's badgering the witness and Sami yells that's a lie. Fred tells her she's a liar, just like the story of rape is. Austin, Carrie and Lucas outburst, yelling to Sami not to be thrown off by him and that he is just trying to get to her. The judge calls for order in the court, but they keep yelling and Alan smiles to himself, saying one's down and there's only one left. The judge manages to settle everyone and instructs Fred to stick to questions and not speculations. Fred asks Sami if she want to a doctor to be examined and Sami answers she was too embarrassed. Fred says that it's just her word against Alan's and Sami answer it is so. The judge tells Sami to step down and Pat calls Elaine Parker Marshal to the stand. When Elaine sits, Pat asks her did Alan Harris rape her. Elaine doesn't answer and Pat repeats. Sami worries, asking Carrie why isn't Elaine answering. She tells Carrie that she promised her Elaine would come through, as Pat asks again did Alan Harris rape her on the night of June 16th, 1992. Elaine says she doesn't know what she's talking about and that while dating her, Alan acted as a perfect gentleman. Alan smiles and says "Two down."

Elaine repeats Alan did not rape her. Lucas gets up and starts screaming Elaine's a liar. The judge calls for order in the court and Pat asks for a fifteen minutes break. The judge announces the break and Lucas and Carrie approach Elaine and ask her what's going on. She just asks them to leave them alone and leaves the courthouse. Sami worries no one will believe her now, especially the judge, as the judge returns. Fred Gillane, Alan's lawyer, gives the judge thirty-two declarations of various charity organizations around Salem, with which Alan is involved. He then calls Carrie Brady to take the stand. Carrie promises Sami she won't disappoint her and takes the stand. Fred asks Carrie if she witnessed the alleged rape and Carrie answer she didn't and adds Alan is sick and needs help. He asks Carrie if Sami lied about her eating disorder and about kidnapping her little sister and Carrie hesitates and answers Sami did. Fred calls Sami as a chronic liar and Carrie is let down. She apologizes to Sami, as Fred twisted her words around. The judge then dismisses Alan's case due to lack of evidence and stresses the importance of seeing a doctor immediately after the rape to substantiate proofs. Pat tells Sami there really is no proof and since Elaine chickened out, there's not much they can do. Carrie tells Sami that at least her name was kept out of the papers, as outside the court, Alan gives Joel, his friend, Sami's sexy pictures and tells him to hurry over to the "Intruder". He adds he even has a headline: "Sami cries rape, but sister calls her liar." Joel gets to it and Alan smiles.

October 1994:
Carrie and Sami are walking through Salem Place the next day, having a good time, shopping and laughing. Two guys overlook Sami and Carrie tells her she's a beautiful girl and that's why they're looking. Aside, Alan hold a copy of the "Intruder". The cover shows Sami in a sexy pose and the caption reads "Sami Cries Rape, But Sister Calls Her Liar." The two guys point at Sami and laugh. Jamie comes running in and shows Carrie the paper. Sami grabs it from her and seeing the cover, runs away crying. Later, Sami comes back to confront Carrie. She yells at her she ruined her life, that is was all her fault. That she wanted to get back at Alan for attacking her, so she used her. Carrie says it's not true and Jamie tries to calm Sami. They leave. As time passes, Sami becomes more and more cold and angry at Carrie. After Alan harasses her at a club Carrie asked her to, she again accuses her of trying to hurt her. At a surprise birthday party held for Sami, she is again cold to her sister. The only one Sami warms up to and confides in is Austin, who is there to relax her after every lashing out at Carrie. On a few occasions, Jamie senses Sami is up to something and that it has something to do with Austin, warning her friend her sister and Austin are very much in love, but Sami is not too sure. After Alan arranges a special gift to be delivered to Sami's party - a framed copy of the "Intruder" with "Happy Birthday, Whore" plastered on the glass, Carrie again lashes out at Carrie and at the end of the evening, after Austin dances with her, she is sure- all Carrie wants is to hurt her. She confides in Jamie she now has a plan, she's gonna break Austin and Carrie up.

November-December 1994:
Up to Alan's trial which is back on due to strong pressure from Pat Hamilton, Alan harasses Sami again and even tries to attack her on one occasion. That causes This just inflames Sami's harsh feeling for Carrie. She has already started to stir up trouble between her sister and Austin, as revenge. Carrie ruined her life, and she's going to pay. When the trial begin, Alan feels doomed, but Fred his lawyer assures him he has an ace up his sleeve.

Pat Marshal, the DA, presents the judge with Carrie's tape. Alan's lawyer objects, claiming the tape is inadmissible. The judge accepts the objection for some reason and Fred calls Carrie to the stand. She promises Sami it will be O.K. and takes the stand. She is sworn in and Fred's first question is what was her first impression of Alan. Carrie replies he seemed nice at first. Fred asks her if she saw him more then nice, as she once thought about dating him. Carrie replies that was before she found out what he was really like. He asks her what she did on the night his client allegedly raped Sami Brady. Carrie replies she went over to Alan's to confront him. He then asks her if it true she broke into his apartment. Carrie inevitably replies she did and Fred tells the jury that the witness just confesses to doing a crime. Carrie feels very uncomfortable. Then Fred asks her about the pictures she found in Alan's cupboard. Carrie tells about the many pictures of her and remarks it was almost like a shrine to her. Fred replies it seems to him pretty innocent and that Alan just had a big crush on her. Carrie replies it wasn't innocent at all, as Alan tried to rape her at the Sky cabin up on the mountain. Fred replies that his client was never convicted of that felony. Carrie tells the jury about the mask she found in Alan's apartment, same one he was wearing when he attacked her. Fred says that it was one mask, one of thousands and that it is her word against Alan's. He then accuses Carrie of using Alan's feelings towards her in order to trap him. He asks her why did she endanger herself by being alone in a room with Alan. Carrie replies she did it to protect her sister and to help her. Fred asks Carrie if she did it because of Sami's story, implying it's a lie. Again inevitably, Carrie looks at Sami and answer "yes". Fred loudly states that the one who should be on trial here is not his client, but the one who has been lying all along, and pointing at Sami, he yells that that someone is Samantha Brady! Sami starts crying and runs out of the courtroom.

Since there were no more evidence and no witnesses or a confession from Elaine, the jury finally deadlock. The judge declares a mistrial and Alan is free to go. Sami is crushed. Alan smilingly leaves the court room. The stressful day, ended with Sami slapping Carrie across the face. Now Sami is more certain than ever in her revengeful plan to take Austin away from Carrie.

In the End

The Alan storyline paved the road to Sami's hateful feelings toward her sister, which resulted in all sorts of early schemes to break Carrie and Austin up. An early part of these, was when Sami called upon Austin falsely claiming she heard noises, fearing it was Alan. On some occasions, she was right: Alan lurked around and followed Sami's all sorts of little plans to keep Austin and Carrie apart.

Eventually, Alan planned revenge on Sami and purchased a gun. One evening he found Sami and pulled the gun on her. During a struggle, the gun went off and Alan was shot. Sami shot him in the groin. This did not do her reputation any good, she was named "Salem's Bobbittizer" on several tabloids.
Alan was rushed to hospital. Sami got off, claiming it was self-defense. To avenge, Alan told Carrie of all Sami's little plans to keep her away from Austin. Carrie hurried to confront Sami and slapped her. Meanwhile, Lucas got Alan drunk at the hospital and squeezed a confession from him, in which he admitted to raping Sami. Lucas got this on tape in order to use it to clear Sami's name. When he told Sami about it, she rejoiced and they made love (this was the night Will was conceived and when Austin saw them, thinking Sami was Carrie). In the end, Sami's name was cleared. The last we saw of Alan, was in his hospital bed, promising revenge on the Brady Sisters.
