How it all started...

Beth's Days of Our Lives Page was created in August 1995 when few people knew what the Internet or World Wide Web was.  At that time, the page contained a list of Salem addresses, birthdays of characters, and links to the 4 or so other Days sites on the web, including Dustin's page, which was also brand new. It also contained a link to the opening theme. These few elements allowed me to launch one of the first Days fan sites on the web. At this time NBC did not have a website at all, let alone one for Days. The other two major networks were already online, but there was no commercial site for Days. The first major Days news the page covered was the departure of Melissa Reeves in November 1995. The first set of additions to my page were the family trees and histories. By March 1996, the page contained the beginning of the Where Are they Now? pages, a cast list, significant Days lists, Roman and Marlena's history, guest appearances, cast birthdays, wedding vows and love songs. Awards and Accolades

In the years that my page has been online, it has received these awards:

• In the Oct. 1996 issue of Yahoo! Internet Life my Days page is reviewed. They said my page is their favorite Days page. They gave me 3 1/2 of 4 stars!

   

• In July 1997, Yahoo! Internet Life reviewed my site again and changed their rating. This time my page received 4 stars!

   

• In December 1997, Yahoo Internet Life reviewed my page again, this time writing an updated review. Again, my page recieved 4 stars.

   

• My page received 3 stars (of 4) from TV Guide Entertainment Online. Visit their Soap Opera Links page

   

• CGS Success System gave my page 3 (of 4) stars. They no longer rate pages, but instead ask fans to vote on the best pages. Their soap opera site list is located at: http://www.cgstv.com/daysofou.htm

   

• Great Idea Award Winner--selected for innovative concept in website content--June, 1997

   

• WICS, NewsChannel 20, in Springfield, Illinois highlighted my page in a segment on their 6 pm newscast as the best Days page on the Internet. Their web page says, "Perhaps the most comprehensive site on one of America's most popular TV shows." 

   

• Listed in Topsites

   

• Snap.com lists my page as one of the "Top Tier Days of Our Lives" sites on their Guide to Days of Our Lives

   

• Soap City (Sony) listed my site as their "Today's Pick" fan site in early November. It was the first site they chose after they revamped their site in the first week of November 1998.

   

•  Inside Soap, an Australian magazine, recommended my site in a section about Days' 35th anniversary in the fall of 2000.

My webpage has just been added to a new Entertainment-only search engine called MSeek. Please rate my site through this pop-up menu with 10 being the highest vote and 1 being the lowest. Thanks!
