Transcript of the November 8, 2000 35th anniversary episode
(Alice stands over baby Johnny's crib in the hospital)
Alice: Look at you. All the hope that we've held in our hearts for you, John Thomas. I'm so glad we'll have the privilege of watching you grow up. And you'll have the privilege of knowing our family...our big, wonderful, extended family...all the friends we've made through the years. How lucky are we? How blessed.
Alice reminisces:
(Fades back to current time to show Alice leaning forward as if to kiss baby Johnny)
(Fades into Doug and Julie, who are in the middle of an extravagant cruise holding wine and champagne glasses)
Doug: Ooh! I love stretching out our anniversary! Two months, three months, four months, five months!
Julie: By the time we get the rest of the way around the world........
Doug: Let's take the rest of the year!
Julie: Oh, we do that already, don't we darling?
Doug: Yep.
(They kiss)
Doug: Now....
(Pulls out a ring case)
Julie: Ohh! What, what, what, what?!
Doug: No guesses at this time!
Julie: I don't know how you ever managed this. You have kept our itinerary from me clear across the Atlantic! I haven't the foggiest idea where our next port of call will be!
Doug: Fog, you think it's London, right?
Julie: Yeah!
Doug: Uh huh, uh huh, uh huh, uh huh....WRONG!
Julie: Well, then I'm all at sea!
Doug: Would you like a hint?
Julie: YES!
(Doug gives Julie the ring case)
Julie: Thank you.
(Julie opens it to pull out a huge ring)
Julie: Oh, Doug!
(Julie tries to slip her finger into the ring)
Doug: Whoa, wait! My dear, my dear, my dear! I would of thought that you of all people would know about the Claddagh ring. If you look at the ring, you see that there's a heart there. That represents love. And hands, those stand for faith in friendship. And the little crown, that's for loyalty.
Julie: You have just described yourself, darling!
Doug: I have described us. And if you put this ring on your left hand...not the right thing, then that tells the whole world that you're happily married forever more. Right there.
Julie: And I am! Oh, these Irish traditions! Oh, so beautiful, so tender! (Guesses) We're going to Ireland?!
Doug: Oh, bingo.
Julie: Oh, darling!
(Jennifer is trying to get information about the DiMera family from an Irish DiMera factory, but the woman is unwilling to give Jennifer any information)
Woman: I'll see what I can do.
(Woman walks away)
Jennifer: (To herself) Way to go, Jennifer, you blew it. all right Bo, where are you? It's cavalry to the rescue time!
(The woman is using the phone in the hall way)
Woman: We've got trouble. A job seeker is asking questions aplenty.....don't worry, I'll take care of her!
(Jennifer tries to walk out of the office and is stopped by a man at the factory)
Man: And where are you going, lass? We can't let you leave the factory until you sign out!
(Bo is defending himself from two goons outside the DiMera factory in Ireland)
Man 1: There is an intruder in the factory!
Man 2: (Speaking to Bo) Don't move! Tell us what you're here after...or you'll soon find yourself in the hereafter.
(Man 2 points a gun at Bo)
(John is speaking to Belle, who is in a coma, in the hospital)
John: Well, let's see sweetheart. You probably don't want to hear about your old man getting in a fight tonight, so....so let me tell you about your brother. You'd be proud of the kid. He can take care of himself. He's strong, he's stubborn. He's...I'm sorry Belle, what was that? Just like somebody else you know? Yeah, you're probably right. And just like somebody else you know, your brother loves you very much. And I guess Brady takes after me more than I'd like to admit -- either one of us would like to admit. So if your mother loves me, why can't she love him? Why doesn't she see how much your brother loves you?
(Brady peers from the window)
(Hope is questioning Marlena, trying to find out if she slept with another man when she was living the life as Princess Gina)
Hope: Marlena, wait. There's something I'd really like to ask you. I know this probably isn't the appropriate time, but I've really been thinking about it, wondering.
Marlena: What? What is it?
Hope: I was Princess Gina for a long time, and I did things, all kinds of things, that I would never have done. Forging artwork, stealing paintings, drinking. Maybe it's true that I could have slept with other men.
Marlena: Oh, Hope, don't do this! Don't go there! Just don't do this!
Hope: Marlena, please, just be honest! It is what you think isn't it? I know you would tell me the truth! Please, answer me!
Marlena: You, and this baby have been through a terrible ordeal. This is not the time!
Hope: If you know something, if you truly are my friend, I need for you to tell me!
(Cut to hourglass logo and 35th Anniversary Special Episode Announcement)
(Alice is talking to baby John in the hospital)
Alice: You know, your great grandfather was the one who knew all the family stories. Yes, I wish he were here to tell them to you. He'd probably say, "Way back in '65!"
(Flashback of Alice and Tom)
(Tom is looking at a photo of Mickey as a baby)
Tom: Ha ha ha, I wonder what Mickey's girlfriends would say if they could see this!
Alice: He was a beautiful baby.
Tom: I think I'll use this to blackmail him someday.
Alice: You wouldn't get very far! He's too good a lawyer!
(Current time, with Alice still speaking to baby Johnny)
Alice: John Thomas, you're a beautiful baby! And you may not be a lawyer, and you may not be a doctor, but we'll love you just the same!
(A nurse enters the room)
Nurse: I'm sorry, Mrs. Horton. I need to check the baby's vitals.
Alice: Oh, yes, and I'm in the way.
Nurse: He really seems to have turned the corner!
Alice: Yes, and thank you so much for taking good care of him.
Nurse: Well he has a lot of spirit. I can see where he gets it.
(John is still speaking to Belle, who is in a coma, in her hospital room)
John: Now, you know, genetics are a funny thing, aren't they Belle? If Brady takes after me, then you most definitely are your mother's daughter. I mean, you've got the beauty and the grace going on. And, you're smart, you know how to have fun. But you know, it's that good heart, that is the thing that I noticed the first time I ever laid my eyes on your mother.
(Flashback to the first time John saw Marlena from across the room)
(Current time)
John: I didn't even know who she was. I didn't even know who I was for that matter. The thing was that I couldn't even take my eyes off of her because I knew she was special. And you and I know better than anyone that I was right about that. And you know, as rough as things are right now, I have to believe, especially after everything that we have been through..........
(Flashback to John telling Carrie that Marlena is dead in 1986)
Carrie: It's about Marlena, isn't it?
John: Yes.
Carrie: Where is she?
John: She's not coming, honey.
Carrie: Why not?
John: Uhm, something happened to her tonight.
Carrie: What, she's not sick again is she?
John: No, not sick. She's gone.
Carrie: What do you mean gone? Kidnapped?
John: We had an accident at the house. Marlena died tonight.
Carrie: No! She can't do that! She can't! You said that we would always be together, we would always be a family!
John: I know! I know! Sometimes some things happen, it's not our fault, you just have to understand.
Carrie: I don't understand, I don't! I want her back! I want her back!
John: Me, too. Oh, me too.
(Flashback to John and Marlena's reuniting scene on the pier)
Marlena: It's Marlena.
John: No.
Marlena: Yes.
(John reaches one hand out and touches Marlena's face)
Marlena: (Gasps) Ooh!
John: Oh, God, Doc, it's you! Oh, my God it's you! Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Oh, my God!
(Marlena cries and digs herself into John's chest)
(Current time again. John is still speaking to Belle)
John: You know, sweetheart. When she came back to us, my thought was, "I can't ask God for anything ever again." So many years have gone by, and I have moved on with my life, so many years. I mean, you know what? She wasn't bitter, she wasn't angry. She just worked twice as hard to get it all back. It wasn't long after that that I realized that -- I wasn't Roman Brady after all and everything that I believed about my life was nothing but a lie. Nothing was real, nothing was true. It was a lie. But you know what I learned? I learned...with the help of your namesake, Isabella Beatrice Toscano, and Marlena, and you and Brady, you taught me, you showed be what was real, and true, (crying) it's love. And as complicated as things were then, when I held you in my arms, and I felt the unconditional love, things just weren't complicated anymore. You brought us together, Belle, and you are going to keep us together, forever.
(John kisses Belle's hand)
(Marlena is still speaking to Hope in the hallway of the hospital)
Marlena: Hope, you know that I am your friend. But this is a conversation that you ought to be having with Bo.
Hope: Is he here? I'm asking you, the truth right now. Please, anything is better than now knowing at all! So I'm going to ask you once again. Do you believe that another man could be Johnny's father?
(Alice interrupts)
Alice: John Thomas has quite a grip!
Hope: Gran, hi!
(Everyone looks dampened)
Alice: Now wait a minute! Is something wrong?
Marlena and Hope: No, no.
Marlena: Yeah, Hope and I were just talking about our children, and all they've come through.
Alice: Love and attention are so often the best medicine. That's probably the most important lesson in all the years I was in the hospital as a volunteer.
Hope: Oh, Gran, we are so lucky!
Alice: No, I am lucky! Well, what room is Belle in? I'd like to visit her.
Marlena: Well, that's very kind of you, Alice, but she's still in the induced coma. She's not very responsive.
Alice: Weren't you listening? Love and attention. Whether Belle is awake or not, the important thing is to let her know that we all love her.
Marlena: You're right, of course you're right. That's very kind of you. Why don't I take you to see her?
Hope: Uh, Marlena, I would really appreciate it if we could finish that conversation we started.
Alice: I'm fine, dear. I'll tell Belle that you'll (Marlena) be there soon, hmm?
(Alice walks away)
Hope: How could you try to walk away from me like that? Just leave everything hanging in the air? Do you remember the day Bo and I got married? You gave me something.....
(Flashback)
Marlena: Wait a minute. I have something I'd like to give you.
Hope: Oh, Marlena, you don't have to give me anything!
Marlena: It's something very special and it means a lot to me. I took this out of a book that I keep at home. I wanted you to have it when you walk down the aisle.
Hope: A poem?
Marlena: A very special poem. By Goethe: "That is a true season of love, when we believe that we alone can love. But no one has ever loved so before us, and no one will ever love in the same way after us."
Hope: Oh, Marlena, that's beautiful!
Marlena: Well, I know. It's Roman's and mine.
Hope: Oh, Marlena!
(Current time. Hope is still questioning Marlena)
Hope: This truth! This awful truth that everyone seems to know except me. If this is what's coming between Bo and me now...Marlena please, if you know something and you aren't telling me, then you truly aren't the friend that I always thought that you were. Do I have to ask you again to tell me?!
(Commercial break)
(Bo tries to scurry off the two goon men outside the DiMera factory)
Bo: I ain't got no idea what you're talking about!
(They jab Bo in the stomach)
Man #1: It'll be a long day if you don't tell us why you were roaming around here? Here, let's speed things along.
(The men tie Bo to a tree while he struggles)
(Jennifer is trying to release herself from inside the factory)
Jennifer: Fine, where do I sign out?
Man: Let me just find a clipboard. It should be somewhere.....
(The woman enters the room again)
Woman: Aah, I may have some work for you after all dear! Please, don't rush out!
Jennifer: I need to go home to my wee one. I didn't know I'd be here so long so if we could reschedule, I'd be most grateful.
Woman: If you want a job at this factory, we'll talk now.
(Jennifer seats herself)
Woman: Thank you, Barry. Please close the door behind you.
(The man leaves the room)
Woman: Now, perhaps we can help each other. So I need you to tell me, what are you doing here? Who sent you?!
(Julie and Doug and chatting on their cruise ship)
Julie: You know, the thing I like so much about Ireland? It combines the very, very old and the very, very new and they're all working together side by side beautifully...for the most part.
Doug: Kind of a metaphor of our marriage, eh?
Julie: (Sarcastically) Oh? Which is the very, very old and which is the very, very new?
Doug: (Laughs) No, I mean if we had gotten it right the first time then our history wouldn't be quite the same. I will cherish the good times, of course, and the bad times, too because if all they taught me.
Julie: Sometimes you don't know what happiness is until you lose it.
Doug: Well, you know, I thank God every day for the fact that you and I never really lost each other.
Julie: Our beginning was all passion. It was always the look of love.
Doug: Yeah, you still give me that look, fair lady, and more.
Julie: I pour my life into you. We love each other. But we trust each other, too. This is our lifetime commitment.
Doug: I remember so well the benediction that the minister said over us when we got married.
(Flashback to Doug and Julie's wedding)
Minister: The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Amen. Now you may kiss your bride.
(Doug and Julie weep as they kiss)
(Current time)
Julie: An ancient blessing. Our blessing. Took root, didn't it?
Doug: Sure did.
(John is still speaking to Belle)
John: Thanks for listening to all your old man's stories. You're going to be all right, sweetheart, I know you are.
(Alice enters the room)
John: Alice, good to see you!
Alice: And you, too. Now, if you'd like me to sit with her for a bit...
John: Thank you! She would love that!
Alice: And, uh, Brady's right outside.
John: Thank you. Belle, look who's here. I'll be right back sweetheart. (To Alice) You take good care of her.
(John enters the hospital hallway)
John: Hey, kid. What brings you by?
Brady: What do you think? I came to finish her off! Doc and the cops thought I tried to kill her once before. Might as well get the job done right, huh?
(Commercial break)
(Alice is speaking to comatose Belle)
Alice: Guess who asked me to say hello? My Great Grandson! I think you know what I mean! Oh, darling, I hope you'll be patient with him. Things seem to take forever at your age, I know. But, pretty soon, what happened years ago will seem like yesterday.
(Flashback to Bo and Hope dancing to, "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love For You")
Hope: I always knew it.
Bo: What?
Hope: That someday we'd be dancing like this. Isn't it wonderful?
Bo: Hope?
Hope: Yes?
Bo: I don't think I have to say anything.
Hope: You're right. We have the music, we don't need the words.
(Flashback to Alice giving Hope earrings before Hope's wedding to Bo)
Hope: Oh, Gran, they're beautiful!
Gran: I know, and I've stashed them away to save them for the day you got married. Well, of course I took them out on the day that you married Larry Welch. But I didn't give them to you. I knew in my heart that your real wedding would be the day that you married Bo Brady.
Hope: Oh, Grandma, I love you! So much!
Alice: Oh, darling!
(Flashback to Hope saying her vows to Bo on their wedding day)
Hope: I was pretty young when you met me. And I'd get so mad at you when you'd call me 'Little One.' But knowing you, and living you, has made me grow into a woman. And I am your woman Bo! And standing here, in front of all of these people, I give you my life, and all of my love, now and for all eternity! Oh, Bo, I love you! And I am so proud, to be your wife!
(Current time)
Alice: Time is relevant, but eternity is...I'm sure that someday you'll understand what that means.
(John continues his conversation with Brady in the hallway)
Brady: Relax, pops! I was kidding.
John: Not about that, not about your sister! You don't kid about that.
Brady: Yo, why do you think we're called the Generation Y? Cause we're always asking the same question, "Why?" We can have a sense of humor about death, we see enough of it!
John: Your sister is not going to die.
Brady: I know that!
John: And I know that! I understand, I know that when you're a baby and your mother dies and you don't get to know what kind of a wonderful woman she is, and it makes it kind of hard to count on people sticking around in your life, doesn't it? Well, I'm not going anywhere! You go ahead and test me, I'm not going anywhere.
Brady: Dad, I would never laugh about Belle, okay? Marlena doesn't think that laughter is the best medicine anyway, so how am I supposed to deal with this?!
John: What did the lawyer say?
Brady: Roman Brady was playing bad cop/bad cop so I just kept my mouth shut like Brisco advised. That didn't get me out of this.
John: Brisco? That was Gene Brisco?
Brady: Yeah, uhm, Grandpa Victor...asked him to represent me.
John: How did he know that we were.....? He was there at Tuscany!
Brady: Yeah, A.K.A Fight Club. You know, I don't think Maggie Horton is going to be accepting your reservation anytime soon. Little does she know that was the best entertainment Tuscany has seen yet.
John: (Laughs) Yeah, that's a fact. 'Fight Club.' Where the hell did you get that left hook?
Brady: I...I wasn't thinking. You know what? It's pretty good having someone there to back me up.
John: Why didn't you come home?
Brady: I wanted to, dad! I did, really. But I was talking to Grandpa Vic about it, and what happened at the train tracks, and he said that mom would have wanted me to come home.
John: But you didn't.
Brady: How could I? You were sleeping with the enemy.
(Hope is still questioning Marlena in the hallway of the hospital)
Marlena: It is not fair to put me in this position!
Hope: Not fair? When you didn't know who Belle's father was, you got to decide who to tell and what to do! I don't have that kind of control over my life. Because everything I need to know is being kept from me!
Marlena: Whatever Bo decided not to tell you was never up to me, it should not be up to me know!
Hope: You know what? You're right! It should be up to me! I should be making the decision, and I'm making it right now! Now I want you to tell me!
Marlena: My daughter is in a coma. My husband is just out of jail, and my stepson...I don't know where he is. I haven't slept in days! Don't pressure me now, it's not the time to do that!
Hope: Lies. All of that pressure comes from lies! Just tell me the truth and it'll be easier for everybody.
Marlena: The truth about Belle's father broke up my marriage! Is that what you want for yourself?
Hope: You're not! No, you're not...Oh, my God! It is true! Bo is not Johnny's father! Oh, God! Oh!
(Commercial Break)
(John and Brady are still continuing their talk in the hospital hallway)
John: So how do you see this problem fixing itself? If I weren't with Marlena, would everything in your world be okay?
Brady: Yeah, like we'd ever know.
John: Yeah. Well then maybe it's the truth, huh? That's what'll help fix this, once Isabella wakes up and tells us what happened, maybe Marlena will see....
Brady: Will what? Start caring about me? Start believing in me? Look, dad, if you ever want to have a happy family, there is no way I am ever going to be a part of that. Not if Doc has anything to say about it!
(Alice is still speaking to Belle in the hospital room)
Alice: Oh, Shawn Douglas told me you had a birthday! A sweet 16! Oh, do you remember the old saying, "The more things change, the more they stay the same"? Now, you have your DVDs and your DSLs, but being a teenager isn't very different for you than it was for my daughters and for Tom and me! You have the opportunity of making a lot of choices, some of them good, some of them bad, for the first time in your life. It's all discovering who you are, and now you get second chances. Do you remember my granddaughter Jennifer? When she was your age, would you believe it? She was a rebel! She was a wild child!
(Alice remembers Jennifer's confession that she stole money from her years ago)
Alice: Where did you get the money? Drugs are expensive!
Jennifer: I just got it.
Alice: You don't just get money, Jennifer! Now I want the truth, where did you get it?
Jennifer: Why does it matter?
Alice: Because I worry about you, and I know those children that you were running around with.
Jennifer: I didn't get the money from any of them! I got it from you!
Alice: From me? How?
Jennifer: I stole it from your purse.
(Current time)
Alice: My granddaughter has learned to channel her energy. That spirited young girl is still inside of her! And all that pluck, will still get her into trouble.
(Jennifer is speaking to the woman in the DiMera Factory)
Jennifer: Cross my heart, ma'am, I'm just looking for honest work!
Woman: Anyone who grew up in this town who wants a job at the DiMera factory knows better than to mention the Brady name under this roof!
Jennifer: Well were you listening to what I said? I said I agree with your about the Bradys!
Woman: You know you're not getting the job! But you never wanted one, did you? We're well aware that Shawn Brady's son was asking questions over at Ian's Pub! Now that's the man you came here with, isn't it?!
(Phone rings)
Woman: Yes, Barry? I'll take the call out there.
(Hangs up)
Woman: Don't move a muscle. We're not finished!
(The woman gets up and leaves the room. Jennifer rushes to the window trying to escape, but instead sees barking dogs outside)
Jennifer: Oh, just great!
(The woman is in the hallway on the phone)
Woman: Petite blonde, beauty mark above her lip.
Man: That's our Jennifer! Lovely girl, wicked heart. I just need you to hold onto her a bit longer. When I get there, I'll see that she and her accomplice never trouble us again!
(Bo is still tied to the tree outside the DiMera factory with the two men keeping close watch over him. Bo has a flashback to better times with Hope as she was riding on the front end of his bicycle with him).
Bo: (To himself) I won't let you down, Fancy Face. I will get out of here.
(Commercial Break)
(Doug and Julie are continuing their reminiscences)
Julie: That'll be a good one. Ah, cruising. What a wonderful way to celebrate an anniversary.
Doug: It's been a heck of a journey, right?
Julie: Right. Now always smooth sailing.....
Doug: True, but when you have love and when you have hope, then you find ways to persevere.
Julie: And I think we've always understood that. Must have...you named your child Hope.
Doug: And speaking of that young lady who knows so well how to persevere, I am so proud of her and Bo for all that they have built together! And the way that they have withstood these tests, all of these tests, of their commitment.
Julie: You know the first test that they had to overcome? That was you!
(Doug has a flashback to when Bo and Hope were in bed while he was banging on the door, screaming to open it)
Doug: Open this door, you hear me?! Open this door!
Bo: Hope, we have to get dressed!
Doug: I can hear you in there!
Bo: All right, I'm coming!
Doug: I know my daughter is in there with you, I demand to see her right now, Bo, and I want to talk to you, right now!
Bo: Hold on! Just a minute, Doug! Well you wake me up in the middle of the night, come on! Hold on!
Doug: What are you taking your time for? You only got one room?! Get over here!
Bo: Just a second!
Doug: I mean it, I'll kick the door in!
Bo: You don't have to kick the door in!
(Bo opens the door)
Bo: Doug, Doug! Come in!
Doug: Now where is she?!
Bo: Will you calm down, Doug?!
Doug: I will not calm down! Tell me, where the hell is my daughter?!
(Current time)
Doug: Why couldn't I see the good heart that Bo Brady had?
Julie: Because she was your only daughter, and no man in the world was good enough for her.
Doug: I'm glad he proved me wrong.
Julie: A year ago we thought she was lost to us forever. But now Hope and Bo have a new baby, they're going to get married again like we did, and have another chance to prove, what true love is all about.
(Hope is reeling from the shock of what she has just learned)
Marlena: Hope, Hope! I'm so sorry! Your baby was born at term. Bo always knew....the timing just didn't add up!
Hope: He never told me! He never...why didn't he just? He just made me so angry with him all the time. I thought he didn't love this child enough. I thought he -- I thought that be blamed me for Johnny's illness. He's just so different than he was with Shawn D!
(Hope remembers Bo and her holding a newborn Shawn D in the hospital)
Bo: Look at this little guy. He's just so tiny. And those little fingers, they're so perfect! How could something so tiny be so perfect?
Hope: He's so beautiful, isn't he Bo?
Bo: He's a miracle. That's what he is. You're a miracle, too, you know?
Hope: Oh, Bo!
Bo: He's a pretty baby.
(Current time)
Hope: Johnny isn't ours. That's why he couldn't bear to be at home with us! Because he knew how much I loved this child, and seeing us just reminded him that I had been with another...No. Wait a minute. No way! I have loved Bo Brady my entire life! I never, I would have never slept with another man, Marlena!
Marlena: You were not yourself. Bo understands that!
Hope: And you? And all of you, because I sure as hell don't understand it!
Marlena: Hope, it wasn't John's fault.
Hope: Wait a minute, John? John said not to tell me about this? Okay, okay, now I understand. Now I know why none of you said anything, because you wanted to protect me. Now Bo is in Ireland trying to get Stefano out of our lives because he doesn't want me to know that that monster...that monster is my son's father!
Marlena: Oh, Hope! Oh!
(Marlena hugs Hope)
(Commercial)
John: Look, son, I'm not going to press you. I believe you when you say that you would never hurt Belle. I also believe that you just weren't ready to talk about what happened on the train tracks. But, since you unloaded to Vic already, you won't give us anything, I just have to ask you, what do you expect Marlena to think?
Brady: Well I wouldn't have Roman put a cop outside the building to....
John: A cop outside the building? That's why you didn't come back?
Brady: I knew you didn't know about that! But, dad, I need to ask you something. I need a favor.
(Alice is still talking to Belle in the hospital room)
Alice: I was talking to John Thomas earlier about our family stories, and your father was telling your own. It's important, Belle, that you know where you came from. You can't spend your time looking backward, but your past is part of your future. When I think who I would be today if it weren't for every person I've met along the way...especially my family.
(Alice has flashbacks, remembering her and Tom putting ornaments on the Horton Christmas tree as Doug and Julie run in, Bo and Hope on the "Fancy Face" boat, and Bo and Hope's 2000 sailing adventure, Hope in labor with Shawn D, Shawn D grown up holding baby Johnny, Bo and Hope hugging as Doug, Julie, her and Shawn watch them)
(Jennifer is still trying to find a way out of the DiMera factory)
Jennifer: All right. I've got to get home to Abby.
(Jennifer hinds behind the door, waiting for the woman to walk back in)
(The woman is speaking to a man in the hallway)
Woman: Go make sure the 'husband' is safely detained!
(The woman walks back into the room that Jennifer is in. As she walks into the door, Jennifer swipes behind her and out the door, escaping)
Woman: Damn it! I better not let her get away!
(The woman picks up the phone as the alarms sound off)
(Bo hears the alarms outside)
Bo: (To himself)I never should have let Jennifer get involved in this!
Man #2: There's only one way to make the damn yank doesn't go anywhere!
(The men point a gun at Bo)
(Commercial break)
(The men continue to hold a gun to Bo)
Man #2: You might think you're running off, but I doubt you'll ever be walking, boy!
(Jennifer runs to a vehicle and jumps inside)
Jennifer: Where are you? Where are you, Bo? Come on! Come on, Bo!
(A man sneaks up beside the vehicle and stops Jennifer)
Man: You never did sign out, lass! Where do you think you're going?
(Doug and Julie continue their reminiscences while dancing)
Julie: (Laughing) So, when do we make landfall in Dublin?
Doug: Are you so eager to get off this ship?
Julie: (Laughing) Of course not! Oh, sweetheart, how are you ever going to top this surprise?
Doug: (In Irish Accent) I don't know! But I have a feeling that there are plenty of surprises in store for you and me!
(Hope is still reeling from her shock)
Hope: Stefano, oh, God! What he did to me! Oh, God! I feel sick!
(Hope runs off)
Marlena: Hope, no! No! Hope, don't do this! Hope! I've got to find John!
(John and Brady continue their talk in the hospital hallway)
John: all right, what's the favor?
Brady: Well, my lawyer would like me to look a little more presentable in court. etc., etc...
John: And what? That (Halloween costume) won't work?
(They laugh)
Brady: I guess not!
John: (Pulls out a credit card and gives it to Brady) Here you go. And this is my PIN number. Don't lose it. Now, I give this to you, with complete trust, but under one condition. No accessories from the costume shop!
Brady: What, would you rather wear a sword than a tie?!
(They laugh)
John: Oh, a lot more comfortable huh?! I can understand that. Just be careful with that.
(Marlena walks into the hallway and sees Brady and John joking around and is taken completely aback)
